    Amen to that.

So lucky to be here, glad I am associated with the country that fought through it with the help of their allies.

    Let us never forget.

I can't exactly forget D Day, as it is history. But, I can't exactly say I remember either, because I wasn't there.

    oh please,

america joined only after it was attacked, far after the war had already started.

the only thing that america took from that war was this lesson: it is ok to attack enemy civilians, hitler did it.

not true, they gave the UK tons of supplies through the lend lease program before they declared war on the Axis powers

and thats besides the point, they still gave their lives to stop their spread of nazi-ism.

im just justifying the bombings of Berlin and other Axis controlled cities. im respecting the people who gave their lives.

If you cant do that, then get the FUCK off my thread.

you are a narrow minded, mis informed bigot. read some history before you post shit.

It wasnt just Americans that died on D Day.

    Amen!

It's mostly sad news ever. Sometimes it's makes me go upset when I saw my couples grandfather in world war 2.

who cares if they helped a little bit before hand.
they still sat idly by while their allies were at war, refusing to enter themselves.
lets not forget Hiroshima. neither side is perfect.
the only thing that came from the war was a hatred for socialism, a blind love for democracy, Israel and justifications for attacking enemy civilians.

Well I am personally always against killing civilians, but in a war what can you expect? Even right now, in Iraq Civilians are killed. Alot of people fought for the geniune reason to protect their country (without the need to take any innocent life) so I solute those people.

You have the right to defend yourself, always. But involving people who have nothing to do with it, that's unfortunatly in the humans nature. If WW3 broke out today, the same thing would happen. Civilians pay the price in the end.

I suppose were atleast past the ages where once a country is defeated, a holocaust occurs.

once upon a time it was unheard of to openly attack civilians.
you didnt bomb civilians, you bombed troops.
the bombings on england changed this by setting a precedent.

i suppose we are not above adopting the tactics of a despised enemy.

Good thing we did join 'late' as you put it, (even though as stated we helped with supplies throughout the whole war) or there would be a lot more countries speaking German.
