Oh cool, if this is legit I am actually looking forward to whatever it may be. The water and lighting graphics / effects look very nice, it would be cool to see that throughout runescape. Also it almost looks similar to the Trawler minigame, possibly a quest related to that or the area surrounding it. Nonetheless it will be interesting.

 

The Runescape world map is too small to make it worthwhile tbh.
Runescape has a good working system of teleports to get you most places in good time. It's not like WoW where the maps are like FFSDfhjlkagjklsdfjlk huge and you have next to no teleports.

Mounts would be a waste of an update imo.

By looking at the picture, I though it was a quest. By reading the behind-the-scenes June, I can be sure it is. The behind-the-scenes June states:

"This month’s master quest will ring bells for anyone interested in the guaranteed content polls. As named by you, the sea monster Thalassus has been terrorising the cold and inhospitable oceans to the north. No one has survived to sketch a picture of this hulking beast, but the inns are full of rumours: Thalassus is the size of the Wizards’ Tower, they say; sailors are eaten and digested while still alive in its belly.


Fisherman Jones wants to end the scare stories by landing the beast (gaining a little glory in the process). To join him, you’ll need a Fishing level of 70, a Hunter level of 67 and a Thieving level of 60, and there’s wieldable fishing nets on offer, and a range of bank deposit boxes to unlock if you do. The quest also offers you the opportunity to embark ten more times for additional Hunter XP, should you prove to be an enviable harpooner."

This photo is obviously fake, but there has been rumors about sailing as a new skill going around now for awhile. I personally think that sailing would be more boring than farming already is. If they were to release a new skill it should be fun and exciting like boxing or something.

 

When are they going to make a REAL skill like. clicking. or arrow key turning.

 

Sailing was never confirmed. 100% sure its a quest.

Anyways, like lots of people stated above me, I think it's the new quest, no it's not sailing and yes I think they should have other priorities and yes thislooks gay.

 

quest looks legit, and pic does too.. only down fall is i dont want to upgrade from my current pc just to play rs >__> aside from being able to hardly play as it is. and sailing? are you serious? common guess.. go post on the forums for a better quest... im out of ideas myself as for i think the game is fine as it is. i have yet to max everything. whats this about a new item slot? or did i misread that?

 

They've been talking about sailing for a long time.
Maybe it will really be time for sailing to come in?
