Runescape-Embarassed and Ashamed?

Are you guys embarrassed/ashamed to be playing runescape? like you don't want your friends to find out

if anyone found out i played, my social life would literally plummet haha

 

Not really.
I'm popular and nobody really gives half a damn. Actually a lot of the "cool" kids play (bot) and trade around on blackmarkets on the side.

 

Its not something i would go around screaming

Nobody cares what you play on your own time. It's what you play with the others and how good you are at it that matters.

 

No one knows except some of my gamer friends, but I wouldn't give 2 shits if my "outside friends" found out. They might talk shit for a bit but it's no big deal.

 

All My friends are 20 - 30 Doubt they even no anything about runescape so, they would care =)

 

I'm embarrassed about playing, I don't know why because I only bot.

 

yup, i have grown up in a city where runescape is frowned upon and no one plays soo for me to be playing rs is kinda big and spread fast at school if anyone was to find out, so i try to stay mainstream by playing cod

 

well my irl friends got me into rs and when asked recently if i still played i responded yes, so... not really.

My social life would be a train wreck if anyone knew that I played.
Only 2 of my irl friends know that I play and they play too so we never discuss it at school. So far my secret is safe

Around here if anyone even hears the word "Runescape" they say something like "Wow that game is for fags and has like 2d graphics, Black ops all day bro!"

Well this depends on the people, Personally I don't worry. I smoke a ton of weed and play a lot of RS. Friends are second on my agenda. If anyone judges me in such manner I choose to stop talking to them. I get where you are coming from, a lot of people are very judgmental here in the US >_<

If they care that much, as to not like you anymore, good riddance in my opinion, you don't need people like that in your life.

 

They would make fun of me for it probably, but then I tell them how I make real money from it and they shut their traps.

 

Ashamed? Not at all, anything worth your time isn't worth being ashamed about.

It's not exactly something I'd ever bring up in conversation though, mainly because I myself can't stand listening to people talk about video games.

 

Well, gaming is a lot more mainstream then 10 years ago. Now people won't laugh at you that fast anymore because you're a gamer.. But rs is still a big no-no. Why? You can't go around saying it's just a game like the others. It's an MMORPG, requires complete dedication to be good at it. And most people start playing this game at a very early age, quit on it because of the huge amounts of time it requires and so assume you do nothing all day but play rs. I mean, I go to gaming nights and even there RS is for the lowest of lowlives.

 

Yes, i have been bullied quite a bit at school and that was bad enough. I would rather shit on soil, pick it up and eat it then tell my schoolmates i play runescape. I have a few friends that know i play runescape, both of which are level 80+ in runescape. But the only friends that know i play runescape are friends that go a long way back.

 

meh >w< well where im from everyone "used" to play runescape @ one point of their life.. i really dnt give if somone finds out i play... like someone said above.. im not going to go announce it to the world now.. i just dnt care... u knw @ times when someone catches me playing they say... ither A) oh sweet stats? nice.. they kick my ass

i don't play i bot but i do tell people i bot and mm cos it make's me a few doller's which is quite cool and deffo not ashamed of who i am or what stuff make's me happy i life
