Community Support

Just noticed this section was removed, could someone care to elaborate on the changes and such.

 

Give it time and it probably will be.

 

It actually makes more sense for all of those sections to be in Off-topic, I just thought it was weird considering the still semi recent changes from UE to CS. Guess it just didn't work out. May bring some more activity to those sections now.

 

Might be addressed within a few days.

Does this include the "community submitted guides" section coz i just had a quick look for RsProds Player Auction guide and could not find it..

 

I cannot wait to hear the logic of this removal.

 

I'm in support of removing the section, but maybe keep a general guide section available? Not sure.

 

Yeah as long as the community submitted guides come back, that was the only reason i went to that section at all.

 

This. Its kind of unreasonable if all the hard work people put in to making their guides just vanishes.

Yea... Removal of guide section was an odd choice.

 

It's not so much that they vanished, they have all just been archived. I wouldn't mind seeing a guide section return, however. It seems that the majority of the QUALITY guides were submitted by users who weren't even trying for the CS rank, but wanted to just submit a guide here or there for the good of the site. Why not keep it that way...

 

Well that was the easiest way for me to leave the cs. I was gonna do it today lol.

 

Essentially, the entire User Education/Community Support concept has a whole lot of bad history. There's not a lot to say other than I've been the only Administrator endorsing the view that we should keep the section, and so its existence has been solely contingent on my will for about a year now. I've often tried to address the issues that have plagued the section, but, sadly, admit defeat and would prefer to invest my time here on Sythe.org elsewhere more productively -- the User Education/Community Support flaws were too deeply entrenched to change.

Long story short: the support for the concept from the administrative staff has finally expired. Sorry to all those that will miss the section -- we have moved the forums that we deemed to be significant to Off-Topic.
