Rape

I am going to keep this brief, but rape is viewed as one of the worst crimes one can commit on another. Some hold it worse than murder. Its viewed as heinous and primitive.

Looking at animals, animal rape is quite common. The male simply wants to reproduce, even if the female doesn't 'consent'. I've read its quite common in primates, from 20-40% of all animal sex is rape.

Why is it so bad for a human to commit rape? I guess it can be considered instinct (not the rape, but the sex to reproduce).

In discussing this, i wanted to exclude the sociopath rapist where they rape for the thrill or for the damage they inflict on someone

Well rape is demoralizing and is the same as assaulting someone who doesnt wanna be assaulted

Well, you stated the difference. Primates rape for reproduction. Humans often rape for pleasure or enjoyment; I'd estimate 95% of the time rape occurs for pleasure, while perhaps the other 5% is for a child or another reason.

 

Rape acutally destroies a persons life
they can no longer hold a stedy relationship
and they live in fear
