Jagex probably prefers that we play in moderation for business reasons. We pay for a month's access to the game, whether we are on for 5 minutes or 20 hours a day, so they aren't going to make extra money if we sit at our computers longer.

They want us to play just enough to keep us interested so that we spend the next 10 years slowly working on our characters. They certainly don't want us to play so much that we get burned-out/bored in a few months/years.

I doubt they care about the well-being of their player-base beyond keeping us breathing and clicking
