PS3 Help....

Okay so ive had this Ps3 for a good 7 months, its a 320 gig slim and all of the sudden i just lagg so hard in games i cant even play them. i just upgraded internet because i thought it could be that. but its not. this started to happen 2-3 days ago. Any game you name it, i lagged on it:

All of the COD mw1-black ops: Check
Mortal Kombat 9: Check
NFS Hot Pursuit: Check
marvel vs capcom 3: Check
Hell i even lag on little big planet...

Wtf... its a wireless connection, seeing as how my router is in my garage (better internet connection) and my ps3 is in my room, a good 20 feet away and i dont have a Ethernet cord long enough. I even put my PS3 in DMZ mode... didnt work. Im tempted to call sony and see if they have a solution, but the usually response ill probably get is "Contact your ISP, because Our side of the service is fine."

Its strange because ive been playing on 6 MBs before i upgraded and it was doing fine, hardly any lag, then out of nowhere it just starts,nothing i have done will fix it.
is there any other solutions or am i just going to have to buy an ethernet cord? I feel like getting a Xbox atm

Also the internet runs fine on the computer, fast searches, can play online games on PC just dandy, but its the exact opposite on the Playstation.

 

Try connecting VIA ethernet, if you have a spare tv just grab that(maybe some small crt tv if you have any?) so you can test the ethernet. Something might be interfering with the wireless/your wireless is just shotty?

 

It's happened to me before. I leave PlayStation 3 for a while like month (when anonymous hacked to PSN. I didn't play ps3 since it's stopped. After this it's working, never lag. Might you should leave it for month or makes PlayStation comfortable, not like too hot makes PlayStation to effect to lagging.

 

Or your Internet has problems, need to replace new router or upgrade Internet amount of usage, not too low or peak hours. I have a unlimited Internet. It's worth! Out of range of connection problems? If so, it's could be effects on PlayStation 3.

 

Have you updated the firmware of your PS3? Maybe you should reset it to factory settings and try from there.

 

Try running a wired connection, my PS3 is beside my router and it lags using wireless for some weird reason. I ran a cord to my PS3 from it and it works fine for me.

 

I found somewhat of a fix. the Wireless Channel was on 6, and my ISP said the best channel to have it on is 2 or 10. now im only getting 3 bars out of 5, but no lag. Ill have to look into ethernet cords. Thanks for the help guys
