    Briefly explain the trade: His signature has an invisible image in it that is reported by my anti-virus.
    How they scammed:

    Notice the image link in his signatures HTML, if you try to view that it doesn't work, yet it comes up with a virus report. I'm guessing it's a sort of drive-by hacking attempt.

    It's a picture, not anything from your anti-virus program.
