Is Runescape worth coming back to?

I've been thinking of starting to play Runescape again,but I really don't know if the game is worth coming back to..I started playing in around mid 2005. I had a blast when I was playing...from learning how the game worked etc...I primarily quit because I was getting bored with the game and I didn't like most of the updates Jagex was releasing. I haven't played the game in years (I still logged on every now and then to talk to friends but that was about it I didn't pay any attention to any of the update)
Now from what I understand the game is overran by bots and it's very easy to level up etc..
I'm thinking of returning because lately I've been getting some nostalgia about my early days of playing Runescape.
So,is Runescape worth coming back to?

 

There's no definite answer to that question as it's you and you know yourself best. I guess you could start by making up a F2P account and playing a little to see some changes, and if you like them. If you do, buy an account/make the account p2p and have fun with rs

 

Yeah that's what I'm thinking of doing. Currently I'm playing WoW but lately I haven't been enjoying the game. I'm just thinking of starting a new account,no botting,no cheating etc.

 

The game gets very boring quickly in my opinion. It is not at all what it used to be like back in 2005, the community has changed for the worse. The only time I touch Runescape now is to bot accounts and sell the RSGP.

Give it a go for a month and see how you feel though? Maybe all your need is a break from WoW?

 

I gave away over $700 worth of runescape stuff to the sythe.org community, and Started over with a fresh account, in the last weeks I have had more fun on runescape then I ever did, So if your going to re-start runescape I suggest making a new account.

 

I think you should atleast try it whist having a your WoW account active.

About a month ago I was in your position and I was just bored of WoW and decided to sell it and play RS again and so far I've been enjoying it once again.

 

If you were disappointed with the updates in 2005 your in for a shock. I went semi inactive only 6 months ago and i have missed alot. Its going to take a while for you to get back into the swing of things.

 

If you do, you can make some good money from it eventually
And by the way, bot. You will cry at the tedious work of leveling all/most skills

 

I haven't been able to get back into it since I quit last year. The community is absolutely horrible now, practically everyone you meet is a wanker or a kissarse. PKing is a joke because of all the insanely overpowered weapons that JaGex thought it was a good plan to release. I don't feel that it's anywhere as near as good as it used to be, so I'd say it's not worth coming back to.

 

I've been thinking of getting back into it recently, but not starting from a *new*, new account as I think that the e-mail logins are gay. PM me if you'd like to train together or something

Personally I love it, so yeah I'd say go for it.
