Talkin' bout the RS Cheating section.

So many threads asking, "Which bot(s) is/are the best for this/these skill(s)?" there.

Therefore, I propose that we make a single sticky containing a list of the best bots for each skill and other miscellaneous activities.

    Opinions. Now.

This is a pretty good idea, since there are constantly several threads open discussing the same topic. However, since this topic is highly debatable/opinionated AND because there are several different clients that host equal/comparable bots, this would just be a hassle in my opinion, and wouldn't really do much good. Plus you'd have to figure in ban rate, exp/hr, money/hr...

I get what your saying , and something needs to be done.
however, as stated above a lot of it is opinionated.

I'd be more inclined to go for one of the following:

Sub-Topic OR sticky - Runescape Bots (Talk about all bots here)
Not a list of specific skills and which bots etc.

Yeah, or instead of Runescape bots make it Runescape Bots and Scripts, or just Runescape Scripts (talk about scripts here)

Personally I think it would be great to have one giant thread that would have suggested bots and training spots for specific levels. However, that being said every time there has been a main sticky post about a very broad topic it seems like we expect discussion to stay active, however only in the topic. But from instances I have seen it appears basically all discussion on that topic stops almost completely and there is hardly any activity in that thread. There is obviously some exceptions, however I feel like this is a topic that is way to broad to have its own one sticky. I think if we were to contain this to a sticky we would also see activity in the RS Cheating section drop drastically.

Although I would think it would be helpful if a user were to make a guide with all of those suggested settings / places, though it shouldn't be a topic to contain all discussion on that topic in that one thread.

Constantly changing and updating would be necessary sometimes autoMinerPro owns Kminer sometimes it's the other way around..

The fact that it's highly debatable is why I'm suggesting that we ask for other long-term botters' experiences.

For equal/comparable bots, we will post both and state their cons/pros, letting the users decide for themselves. My main point was to stop people from getting ripped off by RSBots.net, which most people seem to blindly do.

The rates aren't my job, and it mainly depends on what you do with the bot, but a short description of the best possible experience per hour is possible, and that won't be much of a hassle if you go and look at a bunch of proggies (exceptions possible).

It's hard to follow a discussion going on in a sticky, unless you have the time to read hundreds of posts to catch up with what's going on.

As for the sub-topic, I don't think we need any more of those.

Changing the name won't change the purpose of the section.

There are too many training spots to count. My point was to suggest which bot was the cheapest/most efficient. Take a look at CarbonBots and compare them with RSBots.net. You'll see that they make insanely crazy bots despite their low prices.

I'm not aiming for a discussion on that sticky, simply a reference for all newbie botters on which bot to buy next.

I would not care if the activity in the RS Cheating declined. Vaders/scammers post unproductive one liners that usually send off those newbies to RSBots.net to go and get ripped off. If the popularity declined, it would also be less work for mods to clear out spams. Time is more precious, am I correct?

TL;DR: The point of the sticky is not to be a discussion, but to be used as a reference.

    wut

kMiner is better than AutoMiner Pro times infinite. Cheaper, and basically the same thing. RSBots.net just steals the scripts and renames it (pretty much) and charges outrageous prices.

I guess it could be handy to have, but people tend not to read the stickies so there would be more rule to enforce... I'm assuming there will be a bit of debate on which bots are better too??

In time, people will be aware of its existence.

For the debates, we need to pick out an arbiter.

If this is the case then I support, I misunderstood the post at first. However I think that this would be beneficial for newer users or really anyone new to botting or looking for a second opinion / suggestion.

I feel that this would be a rather valuable contribution to the Cheating section.

Half of the time those "Which bot is better" threads end up with 20 people posting the same thing to raise post count. I speak from experience.

At least with the sticky someone could direct the OP to the sticky and report the post to a mod with a request to close it. It might still be a relatively slow process, but it would stem the flooding.

There used to be such a list, and it was constantly, constantly having to be edited. Considering only mods and the OP can edit threads, it became neglected pretty fast.

Do not support - bots are always being updated and just like others said, which bot is best is highly opinionated. Such as, powerbot might have the best bots in the world, but with what happened they got a bad rep from me so I would never go there so does that make it good or bad? Just leave it as is imo, they always get updated and people have many differing opinions.

Support - Even though constantly updating the thread will be a pain in the ass, the outcome is good. Reduces bot threads, reduces spam aswell. THe decision is up to the staff, considering they have to do the editting, which is additional work for them. Most of them are always busy. Either with spam reports or scam.

You're not implying new bots come out every other day, do you? *sigh*

I was talking about premium bots. Why would I bother making a list for free scripts? I mean, they're free, for Christ's sake. You can just try it out to see how good it is, and if you're feeling paranoid, just go look at some feedback before deciding.

Guess I should've cleared that out in the first post.

Brother, I don't know where you got your information but PowerBot is on the verge of death... Arbiter is trying to convince kiko to transfer iDungeon to RSBuddy and once that happens, traffic will heavily decrease. Powerbot's been dead since that February 2010 incident. Or half-alive. Doesn't matter.

For the opinions, I already said; we'd pick out opinions from different people WITH COMMON SENSE. That includes active people who have a lot of knowledge about RS, and I assure you, if this gets through, I'll personally go through all of them myself WITHOUT BIAS (assuming no one else wants to do it).

Sort of, but I was thinking about making it more easily navigable, with some descriptions to convince buyers.

I see it everyday, in every section and sub-section on this site(The ones I view, RS related) that those types of threads, that are meant to STOP such posts happening, never work out.

RaS section is the PERFECT example, no one uses the correct format... yet there is a sticky that says to use the format.

Bot 'Proggys' as well, still a lot of people posting their bot 'proggys' in the RS2Cheating/RS2General sections.

I support, just won't make a dent in the threads about it.

Actually, I was referring to the fact that, pretty much every other day, a good premium bot dies or comes back to life, OR a new amazing bot is made, OR anything else.

My point is this: stickies are not real time; discussion threads are.
