99 Summoning thoughts

Think I should go for it?

Currently I'm level 54, and have quite a bit of money to spend.
Worked out that via crimson charms alone, it's going to take 35k charms until 99.

Now if I get 55 charms per hour at waterfiends, it's going to take 630 hours ish, which is 26 days.

That seems a tiny bit too long really, so what is the best way to get the charms for 99 summoning? And are crimsons all the way the best?

 

the best way is to burst/barrage rock lobs, you get a lot of charms there and you get mage xp

Rock Lobsters, Bursting or Barraging as the poster above me said.

You may also do the Summoning Mini game to gain TRIPLE CHARM DROP RATES (Depending on how many shards you collect during the game). The less shards you get the less time you get on the triple charm drop rates. The maximum time is 40 Minutes for collecting all shards.

Slayer is also a VERY GOOD skill to get charms off of if you're looking to gain combat/slayer exp/decent drops and are very patient.

Yes Crimsons are the best for cost.
85-95 - Swamp Titans
95-96 - Iron Titans
96-99 - Pack Yaks

Blue Charms
89 - 99 Geyser Titans

Green Charms:
88 - 99 Unicorn Stallions

 

barraging rock lobsters.youll get 99 mage and hp at the same time but its expensive.

 

Considering your level, waterfiends would be very slow progress. As everyone else here has said, try out rock lobsters they are the best way to obtain crimson charms. It should be noted you need Ancients magiks for this tho. also 43 prayer is vital for low lv defence.

 

if you PVM alot and get high lsp you could go to Corp. i had ~100m LSP and got 1k blues in 4 days of corping, not to mention all the other ones. very helpful, plus great loot. this only works obviously if you can manage to get some lsp.

 

If you burst/barrage in Battle Robes (from Fist of Guthix) and a Staff of Light, not only will you get charms but the amount of casts you need to do goes down dramatically.

I couldn't be bothered with the Battle Robes when I was bursting for 99 Summoning (free trade had came out while I was bursting, so I sold my set for an insane price :laugh: ), so I used Ahrims and Staff of Light instead. Works good as well, since you get higher magic bonus (which SHOULD mean higher hits).

Good luck, 99 Summoning is a great goal to have. It is an insanely useful skill in just about every aspect of RS.

 

how much did it cost to barrage to 99 summon? and how long did it take because im thinking about doing it but i only have 160m

 

AutoSpriteHunter Pro, would be a good option to get some charms.
