Not a big enough market, unless we got heaps of pros in the love writing guides for each game, i doubt many people would actively use those sections here at sythe.

Even tho i used to play dota, and quit playing HoN not long ago (i was too shit at HoN).

LoL = league of legends its like the noob friendly version of dota, and HoN is a new version of dota with better graphics and more raging nerds.

 

Next time he could at least clarify it. I yet still have no idea what the fuck it is.

Like aus said, there aren't enough people here that play it to make a section for it. Talk about it in the other game section.

If a game as HUGE as WoW gets one or two posts a day in it's section I don't think these will be any better.

 

Exactly as toast said, I don't think these games have enough popularity to grant their own section.

DoTa, HoN, LoL are the three i think...
To have a new section means we have to be dedicated to expansion. Sythe has to buy google ads, people need to spam the game...it takes work

 

LoL= League Of Legends, i think you should try it because ive noticed a lot of people are starting to play it. Never played myself but it must be good.

From what I can see, the reason is simple. WarCraft III DotA has millions of players. It STILL HAS millions of players, even though there are maps like SotIS out there. And a large percentage of those millions of people have pirated WC3 to play it. Also, games like Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends have attracted more millions

I honestly can't believe you guys have never heard of dota!!!

and I'm laughing at Trinnityy here, hon is based on dota how can you possibly not know it.

In any case, LoL and HoN are both derivations of dota, if you've ever played warcraft3, it's a map thats gained huge popularity. You basically get your hero and items, and have two competing sides - source and sentinel - that try to basically kill the other side first.

The genre is unclear but as far as I know it's a real-time strategy game.

Very fun, you have to try it if you haven't take a look at playing on garena (online play basically).

 

I know it's based on dota I just was never around to play dota. My friend got me into HoN when it went live. The game itself is fairly difficult and frustrating to beginners and it takes some time to learn. Once you get good at the game it's awesome though. Lately they have been having some extremley intense DDOS attacks and I haven't even been able to login for 3 days because of these attacks on their server. They are losing hundreds of customers per day which is going to be crucial for their future. Let's hope S2 can stop these attacks ASAP.

 

I think, that'd be a good idea I play the shit out of HoN.

 

If the popularity increases then yes, especially if threads from those games dominate the other games sections.. which they dont at this time.

HoN = Heroes of Newerth - More realistic graphics and fair more balanced than LoL
LoL = League of Legends - More popular dued to the 'Free game' trap and got a bigger community
DotA = Defense of the Ancients, where the two above origins from... It's good, but limited and the new dev sucks
