I support the legalization personally; 15 or not - me and my friend smoke weed an 8th like once every weekend? Its not because its hard to get but because we take it in turns to pay and my friend has a job and gets paid on a monday.

Heck; he reckons he wants to give up but inside we all know its a part of us - forever!

 

But like you said, it is impossible to die from it, because you would need to smoke your body weight or so, and you would pass out before that.

Honestly, I'm against it you can call me brainwashed, but however making it legal would be smart, not only would the government would get money but it would lower crime rates. So people are like drug dealers are messed up, thats why there drug dealers, not everyone can be on top so they resort to the lowest thing, although not all drug dealers are like so, this one kid at my school we were great friends, he wasnt a bad guy and he was doing good, I didnt know he dealed till he got sent to rehab for dealing and smoking. Also I read somewhere that Marijuana is only illegal due to its history and racial reasons, but in all reality Alchohal does more damage, I rather see people smoking joints than getting drunk, less deaths, more alert, calm, the most harm you can probably get out of is maybe if you secondhand it. Just my 2 cents.

i think it should be legal, for medical and recreational use. both me, my brother, my 2 unclles and my moma have all been arrested for possesion, and i think its pointless for regular people to be arrested and labeled as druggies jus for the use of a plant.

but if u think about it, it will never be 100% legal in America with our goverment. marijuana cant be taxed completely due to how easily it ca be grown practically anywhere thanks to indoor growing

 

I don't know about recreational use being legal, even though I regularly smoke everyday (except t breaks, which I'm on now), since a lot of people would just abuse it like alcohol and not only give it a worse name, but it will use it's mind expanding value, people will just use it to get "fucked up", or be "cool". I think, however, medical should be legal, the price is cheaper, and you know what you are getting.

Obama CAN do a lot of things, but he's NOT going to do them. Need proof? 2008-2011, economy remains virtually unchanged.

I've smoked to the point that I didn't know what sobriety meant, or what I was, and time seemed to stop, and I've never puked. Whoever pukes must have a really weak stomach.

 

Of course it should be legalized Marijuana May be the Most Important plant in the world. Its illegal because Company's that Produce synthetic drugs like anti depressants Will Lose everything if Marijuana becomes legalized.

Its also illegal because Government makes money off people who are in jail think about it like this, Government Supply's Heroin,Cocaine,Opium People use it get caught go to jail. 50,000 and inmate off of Tax Payers.

If there really was a war on drugs they would legalize it. History Shows Prohibition makes the drug more used.

 

Tbh, weed is amatuer. Im not proud of what i do but i just see weed as an everyday thing like smoking fags but just weed. When i hear drugs i think of coke, mdma, ket etc those are the drugs that fuck me up. Weed should 100% be legalised.

 

I have withstood the attempts of the media and my parents in brainwashing me, I do not agree with it 100%, and I do think it should be legalized.

On the first part, I am simply an independent thinker and do not easily accept whatever I'm told.

Secondly, I feel like it has its benefits and drawbacks in both medical and recreational use.

Thirdly, while legalization would lead to a tax, and therefore possible revenue by state/government, I feel job productivity and motivation in life would fall, although not drastically.

So the well-being of society as a whole is more important than the freedom of the individual? perhaps in other parts of the world this is true, but I would argue that western civilization is extremely individualistic and libertarian. To prohibit such an act (the consumption of a substance) seemingly contradicts our most basic principles.

It's easy to say that "drugs are bad" - I generally agree. I've seen what drug addiction can do to a person, to a family, and to a society. I've lost friends to drug overdoses, and I've been personally effected by substance abuse in many ways over the course of my life, but to deny someone such a basic right requires much, much deeper contemplation than a superficial societal sense of right and wrong.

It seems that a lot of the responses in this thread are from young adults who are beginning to "see the light", as it were, regarding drug prohibition. The government's (and society's) approach to prohibition has been despicable at best. We're told from a young age that all drugs are malignant tools of destruction and decay - a falsehood that inflicts irreparable damage to the psyche of some children.

When you're told as a young child that marijuana is a deadly, nefarious substance that will ruin your life and later try marijuana, only to realize that you were lied to entirely about its effects, you soon break the trust bias between yourself and the "establishment". If they were lying to you about marijuana, heroin can't be that bad. When the master intentionally deceives the pupil, whether it be a parent, a police officer, or a teacher, problems arise. Genuine advice is regarded as invalid the moment it reaches the pupil, and things start to get out of control. I had a friend who used heroin frequently - he very much enjoyed reasoning as to why he should use heroin, why I should try it, and how everyone would be better off if they just had some heroin and chilled out. He's dead, now... from a heroin overdose. Another victim of the fucked up propaganda machine that is the DEA, that is law enforcement, that is the government in general.

tl;dr fuck DARE, fuck society, and fuck you - I'm going to do as many drugs as I want.
