theres a bunch of drama between powerbot and rsbuddy right now the new version of powerbot does something where when you type rsbuddy in it changes it into a fake link
blah blah blah its infected

It is not infected with any kind of keylogger or anything like that. A small group of users has an infection in hosts file that redirected trying to access rsbuddy to fake servers trying to make the user think that rsbuddy was down or something.

Also, I have updated my powerbot, and checked hosts, and I am not infected in anyway, I personally believe it is only infecting vista users, which is why such a small percentage are being infected. But it's not like it's something that will steal your password, but it is malicous in the fact that it changes settings without user knowledge and is hidden. Check your hosts file for anything with RSBuddy in it to see if you are infected, if so delete the things pertaining to rsbuddy.

Yeah 2.44 apparently, just check your host file to make sure your good.

 

it didn't do anything for me. I opened 2.42 and it says there's an update, so I updated. The only thing I hate is VoluntaryThieving is not working! I tried to use 2.32 and it doesn't load. Oh and by the way, does this infect a Mac, because I think there's something crashing.

No, it wouldn't effect a mac at all. The red script at the bottom and makes it look like it is crashing is because powerbot servers are down because they are getting ddosed, probably by Rsbuddy.

And, if you don't use RSBuddy, it doesn't matter tons, but if you check your host files you will know for sure. What it does is redirect away from rsbuddys website, so if you ever plan on going there, you won't be able to.

Are you a Windows 7/Windows Vista user? Because it only affects those computers, apparently.

 

I am windows 7 and wasn't infected, I think it only infects 32bit? But I am not sure..

It was confirmed by Idungpro developed, so I don't think it was BS, it just didn't infect everyone, and I don't think we know yet who it infects.

 

Why haven't you guys just deleted those crap clients and moved onto nexus?

Thank goodness this was sorted out, I checked my host file and no malicious codes were found PB and Rsbot are terrible, I've moved on to Rsbuddy.
