That's what I was thinking. It makes much more sense that way. Allow people to see that the issue or whatever is done but they can still add if they want. It also denies the poster any moderator powers at all.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of the two above posters. When I first read it, and read about the locking feature (even just for OP), I right away thought that would infringe on a moderator's responsibilities. I understand that we want to decrease the workload on our faithful mods, but there are some powers that should be left for them only.

Support, If it is just a [Resolved] tag and not a "Close Thread" feature.

I do thank you for your support.
But it baffles me why people think this 'close thread' ability gives people power....
It only gives the OP the ability to close HIS/HER's thread. something which we should be able to do in the first place.

If anything it will make Sythe more organized than it is now.

This is a cool idea, great suggestion I support it.

I would love this! I'm around the runescape section alot, and when i see somebody posting the EXACT same thing as me, or even posts when the op tells me that's the answer thanks and people still come in posting. It would remove spam, and would decrease a lot of stress among the mods. I mean who gives a fuck about 1 hour of downtime, if you can't wait an hour I don't know what to say to you.

What if the option didn't lock the thread, and instead all it did was add a tag to the Thread Title saying [Resolved]?

But I do see what you mean about the organization. It would make it look very messy, not very appealing to see 5 [Resolved] threads on first page lol and to move them would be even more work. I support it.. just have some requirements.. maybe a $X amount Donated Title?

Very much support, I like the idea, although put it at maybe 200 post count? Only because I am about to reach it and I would like being able to utilize this feature, lol, although I would actually say only put it in certain sub-forums, such as market sections, for sold accounts, or those buying who have already bought an account.

This is what I'm leaning towards. People usually report resolved threads and they get closed pretty quickly. Also, this might trigger the issue with normal users having mod powers.

I support this idea but, only in sections like the "Suggestions Forum" or "Dispute Forum" or "RaS" section, etc. It's not needed in every forum.

    Good idea, I support.
