As long as whips continue to make their way into the game from monster drops, the prices will most likely not go up significantly.

 

They aren't needed that much anymore with a rise in people getting rapiers. People are also botting at abby demons like it's there job.

That made almost no sense at all. 32k whips @ 900kea = 28.8bil. Why would you even have that much for? That's $14,000. -.-'

OT: A few people have been mentioning ways to get items out of the game. I think having a quest or chest that requires items to be put into it in order to gain new items would be beneficial. For example, the more wealth that would be put into a chest (it would only accept items) grants a higher chance of getting some new, rare weapon.

^It would be similar to the current kingdom/treasure trail around. The idea is to get items, such as whips, out of the game to get some new weapon that could only be attained this way.

 

I personally can't see it rise in price again.

Slayer has become more popular, and is now bottable. There are more whips being brought into the game than ever.

Exactly. Just like the WoW concept. How you buy an item, and bind it. That is how RS should be.

 

It will go up, not by much though. It will drop once it goes up anyway.

 

At least rares should be like that. Manipulating rares is horrid.

Yeah.. i remember saving up forever for a bgs now i can buy like 30 of them.. its kinda crazy.. theres like almost no way to really lose your items even if you die u have gravestones that other people will bless for u so u can just come back and pick them up.. i think if your fighting a boss and you die there shouldnt be a gravestone..

 

Id have to agree with this, although there may be a big group merch on them, and they may rise for a bit, more and more whips enter the game every day, so in the end everything will only lower.

BUT!! this way be some time... so depending on how you go about it, you could make a profit off long term merching these.

in my opinion its not worth it, only go with long term merches you are 100% sure it will raise before lowering. Because at least then only time/smarts are factors.

 

The price won't raise at all. Price manipulating is dead since the introduction of free trade. Since the supply is only increasing, as there is no way for items to leave the game, the price will just continue dropping. So no, a whip wouldn't be a good investment.

The thing you should be investing in, are rares. These items are the only ones continuing to go up in price. Rest of the items are most likely a waste of money.

 

It's because of the chaotics too. not many pros use the whip anymore, they use a chaotic instead which contributes to the whip's low price

Anywho, I doubt whips will increase anytime soon, on almost every single world theres 4+ Abby demon bots, and whips aren't being taken out of Runescape like they were during BH/PvP era, so they're just getting recycled in essence.
