I can't even warn you guys enough how important it is to remove yourself from the site Spokeo.

It really takes internet privacy to a whole new level.

Just search yourself and see how much it reveals from just entering your full name or email address. It shows down to what state and town you live in not the street, but it shows a fucking satellite image of your house!, ip address, social networking sites you use. I can't even tell you how scary this is to me. This information should not be put together in one place.

Joke around enter a friends name or email. Find some stranger and enter them. It is scary.

To remove yourself from Spokeo, you must first search for yourself
Make sure to use the different search options to find the multiple versions that you may show up
Copy the URLs to a Word document.
Once you have successfully tracked down yourself, visit the Spokeo Privacy page to enter the URL, and your email to confirm that you have been removed
According to Spokeo, the listing will be removed within 1 Business Day


Playing with it more I can see family members, my youtube account, even how long my family has lived at my house.

 

Woah, aren't there privacy laws against stuff like this? :\

 

Nothing it shows you isn't otherwise publicly available, just makes it easy to collect it all.

I understand that. The problem is that all of that information is in other places. This site puts it all under one place.

Basically you could have a facebook with all the settings on max. But if you have the option for people to search you, or one of your stupid friends allows other people to see who their friends are just your name could show up.

Just using your name I can find out so much about you, even if you set it private on facebook.

You also need to remember that this is only what I can see without paying for membership. Members can see who knows how much more information on you.

to delete it just search yourself under name, email, and whatever else applies. Then delete those one by one. To officially delete you need to supply an email and click the confirm email you are sent. It is automatically deleted though.

Thanks for this. I searched up my real email, and it did actually show my age, real name, location, and other information about me; this is quite scary.

I don't see what everyone is freaking out about, all this site does is takes information from Facebook, ******* (why the fuck does Sythe block t.witter?), LinkedIn, etc. and displays it in front of you. Anyone in the world could figure out all this information without Spokeo.

Everything on there is something YOU posted on the internet and is YOUR responsibility to limit what you have out there. If you're so concerned about it then take said information off the internet.
