Hacked and cleaned.. How?

Okay, so I just fell for the fake "your account is in the danger zone" email that you get sometimes, normally I wouldn't have even thought twice about it but I'd been botting quite a bit lately and figured I'd check just to see. I logged in and whatever and it said I was in the green zone. Didn't think twice about it. But I logged in just a bit ago and I was completely cleaned.

I realize when I put in my account and password there that it was basically keylogged, but all I had on me at the time was my dfs. So I'm wondering how they were able to get my pin and clean the rest of the stuff from my bank.

Also note that I wasn't even on the same computer I bot from, not even he same IP. I was over at a friend's house checking my email because I was bored and noticed it.

Anyone know?

but it possible that jagex also cleaned ur account bank rested
and maybe oyu entered a wrong pass etc on the phisher so maybe u not phished/keylogged
and just a rollback form jagex i got that toe 3 days ago

 

Jagex wouldn't have done that and not updated something on his account regarding it, he got phished. Some keylogger programs are able to tell bankpin from what I have been told, but I have no idea, I haven't had to deal with it thank god, knocks on wood.

Yeah, feel stupid for falling for it in the first place. I just thought that it was interesting that they were able to get my pin and everything else off the account, I guess having one doesn't really make much of a difference lol. It's nbd, I'll just buy gold if I have to so I can actually function on my account again.

And at least they were nice enough to not alch/drop my torso and fcape

 

Not sure, but make sure they can't get your pass/details again. You're not keylogged anymore?

Maybe your friends computer has a keylogger and when you went on it to check whether it was in danger they got all your account infr maybe they took a looky guess at your password?Make sure that you keep your account safe before buying more lol.I would say wait a minimum of 3 months.I also have a link to a leading gold selling site in my siggy so go and check them out they are safe and cheap!!!

 

I got an e-mail from "jagex" but i'm no clicking on it. Even if it is the legit one.

 

I got phished back in February, the first day I joined Sythe. Got an email saying "You're suspected of irl trading" from Jagex LTD so I panicked and entered my name and pass since the site/address they had were almost identical to RS and I didn't think twice. Next page asked for my pin "to verify my ownership" which sent up huge warning flags and I closed the window but it was too late.

I d/c'd almost instantly and after about 10min I was able to recover and change my password. After about 5min, a couple of my friends contacted me on msn saying "Why are you asking me what your pin is?"

The phishers were pming everyone online on my friends list saying I forgot my pin, hoping someone knew it. Thank goodness no one but me knows that and I change it to a temp one if a friend ever needs my account. They only got the 40m I was wearing.

Less than 2hrs after that, I got scammed on scythe for $45 USD... Talk about a bad day?

Second, what are you guys rambling about lol? A keylogger steals keystrokes, it doesn't watch your computer.
If all you did was type your user and pass, it wasn't possible for him to take your pin, areu sure it wasn't in your notes on RS?

 

I think there's a script some people use that enters pins over and over again(obviously different every time, popular ones first) until it gets it right, then it records the pin that works

And yeah, I don't have my pin written down anywhere or anything, so I'm guessing its what JstarD said, they kept putting in pin numbers till they were able to crack mine and get my stuff. Cba to change my pin again, it takes too long, and its not really like it matters now anyway?

Probably gonna "insure" my account this time and only keep a little bit of cash on there and keep the rest on a mule account that I hardly play.

I'm not gonna rage over some fake money, but I just find it annoying that these nerds will go to such an extent to steal other peoples' stuff in a game. Its pretty lol.

Also for anyone that is reading this, two of my irl friends were hacked in a similar way as this (one very recently), except they were supposedly going to be "recruited into a clan", in game. The person gave them their youtube page link. They went there and I'm guessing they clicked another link to a fake website that phished their account name and password and cleaned them as well. I'm not sure of the clan name or the youtube page, they didn't tell me, but don't trust any links that are given to you in game.

 

sorry i didnt read much of what other people say, but i got hacked on another game one time with pin numebers, it basically took screenshots of everytime i clicked and it tracked my pin that way :x.... be careful!

 

after you entered you info on the phiser email did you log onto rs and enter your bank? If you did then either you have a keylogger or a RAT. If you didn't log on then they must of got a lucky guess or your pin was 1234

 

Nope, I didn't log in until over 3 hours later. I was over at a friends' house checking my email when I noticed it and clicked it. Different IP address, different computer, and I'm guessing a different ISP.

My pin isn't retardedly simple either, so that's why I was wondering. People have been saying it was a bot or script that keeps entering pins so I figured that's what it was.

 

Does jagex send e-mails to players?

Individual Jagex Moderators will not send e-mails. Jagex will send updates and other news through e-mail if you've provided it through their main site.

Remember, any e-mail that is not officially from Jagex if you've signed up, should be deleted immediately. Never give any details out about your account through e-mails!

 

I got hacked a few months ago, lost 200m. Took me almost 7 years to get that 200m! Hackers are such low life scumbags.

 

Jagex has stated many times, They will NEVER email you about any offences on your account, it is all done through the message center on the runescape website :3
