Is osrs gold selling still as profitable?

I'm curious about gold selling, not looking to necessarily start a business, also interested to know how it all works.

Are small sellers still a thing? Or is the market pretty much owned by the big boys now? I'd also love to know how sellers network the farmer to buy cheap gold off in the first place
