Porn: Right or wrong?

I believe that it is wrong, even though I'm a casual viewer. I think the world would be better without it.

 

I believe that certain TYPES of pornography are wrong.

However, porn can be made into something that does not degrade or objectify women. I guess people would call things like this "Soft Core" Pornography.

My husband has watched, in my opinion, entirely too much porn in his day. I believe, as a result of that, some of the things he would like to do in the bedroom, are more "degrading" than they would have been without him watching so much porn.

 

Bestiality, hardcore rape scenes, incest scenes, etc imo are just retarded and should be banned for the fact they promote things that are illegal and are just disgusting. porn has indeed changed the proception of sex and most people "learn" from porn when really its nothing to be taught anything by. i was never really into soft core, too boring lol.

Men want to see the woman get a real rough pounding, don't you boys?

You want to see our faces and body parts get covered in your man juice.

You want to slap us in the face with your Member before making us gag on it.

I don't actually see a problem with it, a 'porn star' that is a female doesn't represent the views of all females and her choice should not effect anybody else but herself, if she chooses to participate in this sort of industry then that is her right, it's nobody else's business.

 

If this is the case, then every illegal activity must be removed from the film industry, whether it be Porn or not.

think of it in terms of evolutionary psychology

the most dominant male usually gets the female because it made them more fit and stable mating partners.

now think of it this way, most men in present society do not get the opportunity to compete for dominance other than sports, salary ect.

would it not follow that, as men do not get the opportunity to prove their dominance, their belief in their own dominance may be insecurely held.


now relate this to porn.

like any belief we hold insecurely, we seek ways to validate this belief.

one way to validate ones feeling of dominance would be to watch a women get blasted in the face.

evolutionary psychology hypothesizes that our mind has not evolved since we lived on the african savanna. as such, our minds are not adapted to porn. that is to say, there is no difference to our minds, on some subconscious level, between porn on a screen and naken people in front of you in the flesh.

so....we seek to validate our insecurely held beliefs in our own dominance by living vicariously through porn that is extremely degrading to one of the most prized things in our society, our women.

my theory anyways.

this also relates to why people like to watch wrestling.

 

It's not about what you think about that person, it is about the conscious or subconscious image/feelings it gives people towards women/men in general society. That is where the "problem" or "negativity" comes from.

Like I said, I am not against porn, just porn that tears women down to nothing but sexual objects.

I didn't skip through/focus solely on this part of your post, I focused it in the quote solely because it [sadly] made me giggle for a good minute.

The part of your post I will focus on, however, is this:

I don't relate to your point quoted above, because if it were not on the screen, when would my husband have seen these things being done to women? Nowhere

Another part of your post, about insecurity and dominance, seems to be solely centered around men. You are basically saying that men are in need of an ego boost, and to obtain that ego boost they selfishly degrade women.

I believe that porn is good because it's in fact healthy for viewers imo. People with the "taboo" fetishes can simply fulfill their satisfaction by watching porn, instead of making their sex partners feel awkward for such requests. Good or bad, a majority of us watch porn and accept porn into society. So yeah it's good lol...

 

I was entirely in agreement until the mother part. That's enough mental scarring for me. Good point maam.

And it is not only men that watch porn. I know plenty of females that enjoy watching porn as well. Women love sex just as much as men. Obviously some types of porn are extreme and clearly not acceptable, but for the most part porn is perfectly acceptable in modern societies. The key point that should be made is that if both partners consent to the act, there should be no problem.

 

Porn's awesome. If you think it's wrong, don't watch it. Go start an anti-porn comittee or something

 

I agree. The things i watch in porn, i would probably not ask a girl to do, unless we'd been together a reasonably long time and i believed she wouldn't have a problem with it. It gives people a way to fufill their desires without being frowned upon by the rest of society.

Providing the porn itself is not illegal (child porn, beastiality in many countries) etc, i fail to see a problem with it. If you don't enjoy hardcore porn, don't search for it or watch it. Simple as that. However, if after watching "normal" porn, you decide you might like to see something a bit dirtier, what's wrong with watching?

 

Just the immoral arguement really, otherwise there's no other basis to judge whether it's right or wrong. Don't think it does harm to anyone.

 

Also I don't know about you guys but, I feel I was better prepared for my first time after having watched porn. I think things could've gone kinda bad if I hadn't known what to expect

 

What the hell does porn have to do with how the world is? I think it's fine and I like to watch porn. I have over 50 gigs of porn saved on my computer. What I don't like is seeing the prettiest girls you know go into porn. It's sad really because I would love them and not make them have to work a day in their life =]
