Vouches From Trusted Members = Worthless

Well this is something ive been thinking for a while, because lots of people actually think that a vouch from r2,viou,nick,etc is actually worth a lot. Well let me explain : Its not.

Please tell me how trusting one of the most trusted persons on Sythe make YOU more trusted? If u sell R2 1Bil ofcourse ure gonna go first, how does that make you trusted?

Sorry but im tired of kids saying I got vouches from Mods/OMMs and U dont so ure obviously going first.

Just my daily rant lol what do u guys think

 

It doesn't make you trusted but it does show you are legit in buying or selling whatever.

This one vouch is better than someone with none at all.

 

I agree some what. If somebody vouches for you that you used straight PayPal and they don't usually accept straight PayPal from you, that makes you more trusted.

 

It all varies, i dont have one answer. It differs from person to person and how much they have traded and what they have traded.

I see so many people with like 100's of vouches for training accounts and pin sales; but all in all probably worth $300 - that annoys the hell out of me.

I just look at the quality and whom they have traded with. If people are consistent, and repeatedly sell to top trusted users, they have more of an appeal towards me - compared to people who have vouches from randoms with 5-50 posts; regardless if that vouch is for 5B - i ALWAYS question the legitimacy of it.

I agree with this. I see many people who get TONS of vouches from upgrade selling. And it angers me that they have all these vouches for selling 5m upgrades when my vouches are from Account trades and RSGP trades. Just my opinion though.

The real problem with the system is that we use the word "vouch" too often.

1. Assert or confirm as a result of one's own experience that something is true or accurately so described.

Basically, a vouch should actually only be given when you are nearly 100% sure someone is very trustworthy. When people "vouch" on Sythe, what they are really doing is leaving positive feedback. It's like on eBay when a deal goes as planned. Indeed, if someone sells me 100M, or even 1000M, and they go first, it does not prove they are trustworthy. All it proves is that they wanted to sell some gold safely. They were never in a position to scam, so nothing can be said about their legitimacy.

 

a vouch is a vouch to me.

 

they are not worthless.... but there are different kinds of vouches. its easier to spot a scammer with theyre vouches aswell, it could be someone else's vouches, could be made by them so always make sure you check peoples vouches.

 

totally disagree with this a vouch just proves the trade went smoothly so even if it was a trusted member of sythe the person who they were trading with could of still been trying to scam them.

 

It's only worth it if the trusted member went first.

 

This. Although i have sold close to 2B to viou, and went first, obviously i dont expect anybody to go first to me. Im not asking either, I just suppose its just some small measure of reassurance.

Also is annoying when people with like 100s of vouches for tiny trades that add up to like all of 250$ act like they own sythe.

 

I trust a guy who has been here for a year and has sold 130 pins, then a guy that has sold 100b to the most trusted person in sythe; the 130 pins showed the consistency of that person.

 

how does consistency = trust? what if he did it all just to lead up to a big scam.

Meh, I dont vouch people anymore for this reason exactly unless I actually would actually trust them in a trade of that size. And again, keep in mind that vouches are NOT always a good indicator of trust.

 

Most vouches are worthless as majority of the trades are done with the help of a middleman.

Only vouches that are meaningful are ones which there was no middleman involved, that shows TRUE trust.

 

I love seeing a scammer who is selling an account and says hes trusted because hes got a vouch from some highly trusted seller because he bought 40m

 

To the people who don't like the vouches from upgrade sales: do keep in mind that users trust upgrade sellers with their account's GP and items.
