Staff Interview: Benwise

For this staff interview I was able to interview Benwise the new global moderator. He was feeling kind of sick during the interview so excuse any spelling mistakes. It was a lot of fun doing this interview and I think I may change the way I do some future interviews. Well have fun reading. It was definitely fun making lol.

Alright lets begin, first off how did you find sythe.org and why did you become active?

Hmm...I think I found Sythe from my brother, who was constantly looking for ways to get gold really quickly. He downloaded like gp generators, fake bots, etc, and I eventually came back after thinking the place was a hell-hole for a year. I got active when I made a few friends and wanted to stay around them, than it just built and built

Does he still have an account here? And if so what's the name so we can all go stalk him.

Nope, he never made one, thought his RS account would get banned lol.

Lol, speaking of Runescape. Did/Do you play?

I did, every day. I started in like ~2004, maybe late 2003. Had many pures, mains, etc. My original main, Benwise90, is unbanned now but I don't play it. My old main was a 123 and is now perm. banned for bug abuse.
So I don't play anymore.

Ahh that sucks. Do you play any other games now or do any sports to pass the free time?

Nope, my hockey season ended and this was my senior year so I'm done with that too. I do play Bejeweled Blitz on facebook though lol.

Lol, didn't even knew that existed. ^.^ Any way, Now that your done with highschool what are your plans for the future? If your planning on college where do you want to go and get your degree?

I'm going to OSU Newark, it's a branch of the main campus, than transferring to Miami of Oxford. I have no idea about my degree.

Do you currently have a job or some way of making the monies?

Nope. I'm 100% broke and have no way of earning money. Bum status = me

Aww :/ , A while back you left sythe and then just recently came back into the moderator scene. Why did you leave and then come back?

I left because I was an inactive and crappy mod, which is why I was left with no fun mod ranks. I don't know why I came back, but it's not really the same. I don't have the same interest in runescape, and I'm still an inactive and crappy mod sooooooooo I don't know why.

You couldn't have been that crappy to have been accepted back. Do you have any future plans for your time on sythe like maybe a shop?

Not really. I wouldn't be able to manage it. My laptop, which I took from my moms house to my dads house (they're divorced) is destroyed, and the computer I have at my dads house currently overheats if it's turned on for like 5+ minutes. So that leaves everything online for my moms house which I'm not here enough to maintain a good business.

If there was something you could change on sythe.org besides the scammers and stupid people what would it be?

Amount of members and quality of members. I would love to associate with tons of new people instead of the same people ban evading on new accounts. And quality, people like you, who engage the community and do fun things. If people were more, I don't know, open and willing to do things like this, devise other little events, it would be nice.

Thanks lol. But honestly I agree. Sythe is kinda getting stale with the same old people. On average how often do you spend on Sythe per day? Also what part of that time is spent doing scam/spam reports?

At my peak, it would be 5+ hours a day on sythe easily, more recently, ~1-2 hours tops... And honestly, none yet. I've had a lot of stuff going on IRL and I've been incredibly inactive.

Do you plan to stay on the staff on Sythe with things happening in your life or are you planning on putting a hold to the "Sythe life"?

I'm not 100% sure. I know people would do a much better job at modding than me currently, but when my agenda and all of this stuff stressing me out passes who knows how I'll be. I've been considering putting it on a hold though.

Alright. On the topic of moderators several people have asked me and I don't know so I'll ask you. Does sythe plan to be having a big promotion thread soon? The staff seems to be running fairly low, but personally I think their handling it fine.

I don't know how/if I'm allowed to answer that. But I honestly have no clue. If things are constantly backed up, a handful of people may be promoted, you never know.

Alright. Well hopefully this will stop people bugging me on msn. Before we end the interview I have one last kind of weird question that I have been wondering for pretty much since I have been on sythe. WHERE DID YOU GET THAT AWESOME AVATAR? Like seriously. I can't seem find that picture any where or one that's in such good quality either. >.<

(It's not on now but it was a fucking awesome picture of butters.)
