Scum in the gold buying section

Why does it seem the scum of the earth gathers at the gold buying/selling section? 60% of all those threads are crawling with scammers its preposterous, is there nothing we can do about this?

 

Just use common sense and don't get scammed.
Remember innocent until proven guilty...

The reason why they gather in the rsgp section is because all rsgp trades are final. You can't get your gold back once they have it.

Nothing can be done about this... just avoid being scammed and report a scammer if you have been scammed.

 

Im more concerned about the ones that are new here , have 0 vouchs, and want to buy RSGP via Paypal @ 0.90/m.. someones going to get scammed big eventually. Especially the peeps that are new to the market and are unaware of how shit paypal is.

 

I've run into a lot of scammers during my time here.

I'm considering just dealing through PlayerAuctions from now on. Sure there's a bigger fee, but at least I don't have to deal with all the idiots on this site.

Any attempt to restrict buyers or sellers will be responded to with a locked thread with the reasoning of "this would limit growth to sythe"

completely agree, Player Auctions give a backup in case somebody tries to scam over paypal.

 

There is nothing you can do about it. Every single internet trading website has scammers. The best thing you can do is be smart and realize the risks involved with trading. After awhile it is easy to see who is likely a scammer and at that point you just to decide not to trade with. As long as you only trade with people that are trustworthy you should have no problems.

 

Do what I do "Find Email" > "google Search"> "Match emails"> "Report a Scammer"> "Vader"> "Banned" just do some small research it helps find them out. Also PA solves a lot of problems the ones who refuse PA even if you say you will cover the fees are most likely scammers.

 

Gold trades on RS cannot be reversed.

If the scammers sell gold, they can lose the money they get, from chargebacks.

So they revert to stealing gold, which is irreversible.

 

Find out if their ban evaders first.

 

Can't do much for this problem. Only thing you can really do is report the posts you find suspicious and go vader hunting.

On rare occasions I have dealt with some of these people. Just because they pay high doesn't always mean they are scammer.. sometimes they just want gp fast and don't know much about gp rates since they are new here.

 

I've had to stop accepting paypal altogether. Limited account due to chargebacks, got £368 stuck in it too.

Can't someone just make a new paypal account and make it verified using the leaked etrade method. After, sell all gold using that paypal account and transfer it to your orig. account? If you get charged back you make a new paypal?

 

The moderators are doing all they can to filter all Scammers/Spammers etc.
This is why we all have to re-read the rules and use Middlemen/Official Middlemen to prevent any scams.
