Poisonous Spider Found In Bunch of Bananas

Why I posted this, is because I'm curious as to what you would do or what do you think would happen if someone was bitten and killed, would they have the right to sue?

Only problem is... If you're bitten and killed, how will you sue from the grave? =p

But yeah, i'd say you could sue. Its got the potential for you to be seriously injured through no fault of your own. There should have been measures to be put in place to make sure there were no spiders in the shipment before it was brought into the US.

 

Yeah It's pretty hard to miss a huge spider thats 3' long.

From the looks of the picture, the spider got pretty...dead lol.

You could easily sue for negligance even if the spider hadn't bitten you. Not to mention emotional trama. "I'm having nightmares about poisonous spiders in my groceries!" "I'm too scared to go into the produce section!" Although I am not familiar with that grocery store company...I lived way north of Hayward when I lived in Cali.

Assuming the company is big, even the settlement amount would be nothing to laugh at.

 

I would never buy bananas at that store again...
I assume they could sue because the store was selling contaminated goods, I do t really know exactly but I guess it would be something on the lines of that.

 

Na if they came in with that reason, it'd have to be like "Oh we got sick, here's our emergency room bill and pay extra damages" etc.

I figure it would more be along the lines of what could of came from it and the psychological harm/emotional stress it has caused the family.

I worked in a grocery store for 4 years in Cali and people would always (well, once and awhile) try to con us by saying "Oh I ate this pack of strawberries or w/e and then I had to go to the emergency room". It was a family-owned chain, though, so they didn't hand out money for no reason.

 

I'm sure you can sue. I'm kinda afraid of buying bananas now.

 

Oh, and that's what the fuck you get for eating bananas. They suck.

 

Lol, I like bananas but after first hearing that you shouldn't eat the tips of bananas because spiders lay eggs in them I stopped, now it's like damn. lol

I kill every spider I see, even daddy long-legs.

 

Same I hate spiders and any other bug (even ants! but I kill those), except to the point where I can't kill them unless I have spray or something.

I always have to get my husband to do it.

My little brother won't even go near bugs either, and when my sister's and I ask him how he will be able to kill bugs for his wife he just says "I'll just get a gun and shoot them!"

I think he is going to grow up gay, but I will support him. Kind of.

 

Well, thats a fucking gross looking spider. And its not potent and your around, 1000 x bigger than it. Dont be pussys -_-

 

ANY size spider creeps me out, and it sure's potent when it bites you.

 

By principle I'd probably avoid the supermarket full stop, write to a local newspaper etc
I hate the idea of having spiders in my bananas...

 

Definitely able to sue for this... I bet they could have even gotten away with putting the spider there themselves and won a huge settlement
