Randomly received acc in RS - have questions

if jagex does link my main (f2p) to the account i received for free, what's the worst that can happen?

will i get perm banned or just a black mark?

 

Ya he is just going to wait until you put supplies on it or make money. Heck he might even just want you to level it up a bit for him. Then he will recover

He's probably just waiting for you to put some items on it, then going to recover it, and steal your wealth.

 

i managed to register my email to it, at least i think i did.

I used a guide from the guides section and tested it by trying to recover a stolen password and it sent me an email.

this means the guy can't recover the account right or am I missing something?

 

Just get it banned or keep hold of it without putting items on

This is obviously an scam, he can recover the account any time if its his, he will wait a long time and when you lvl up some lvls and transfer wealth to the account he will recovery it back.
Why is this a scam? Well, there's no wealth on the account, that makes it pretty obvious.

 

yeah i doubt he has some crazy sinister plot going on, ive known people with near maxed accounts giving them away waiting a few hours then recovering them and in turn getting everything the person put on it. either get it banned or just forget about it. set recovs and wait a week and see if you still have access to it. dont even put a gp on that account though.

 

He will do somthing with your ip or recover is after.

they are just going to recover it. u never use an acc someone gave u for free on rs.

 

If he doesn't so anything to the account for 6 or so months, you sohuld be fine to use it.

If I were you I would bot like sorc garden or hunter or something.

Something that makes money and then xfer the gold right after you bot it.

 

I would set recovories + bank pin + email.... Then wait a couple of months to see the result.

 

I wouldn't add any cash to it.
