Account Recovery Section

I have been looking through quite a lot of threads in that section, and I noticed that it usually takes days, if not a week or more, for a mod or admin to reply. I believe either new staff should be hired or the current staff try to be a bit more active in that section. That's just my opinion. When they do go in that section, they do a great job, I think they just need to be more active is all.

I support my thread has been there for a while now I've been pming everyone until FireZ finally replied. He said it is in hands of admins now who doesn't seem to check that forum.

 

Now that people found a way to recover @live / @hotmail / etc email address.
It's now becoming even more difficult to find out if you are indeed the original owner of the account you are trying to recover.


Say I quit, and someone steals my email address.
They do a recovery, and they get it.
They scam.
There goes my "good name" on this site.


It may because they are lazy, or it's a lot of work to find out.

 

Thing is, I knew about the recovering of @live/@hotmail accounts for years, and I don't see why it's a bad problem now. People used to recover hotmail account on "Habbo" when I played that.

Also, Admin's can always check IP's, which in my opinion, is the most full proof way to verify that the real owner, is the actual real owner.

 

It is becoming a problem now, because people on Hackforums just figured out that they could take advantage of it by recovering these accounts and selling old Sythe accounts on Hackforums. It is hard to distinguish at lot of the original owners in that forum now. Nonetheless it is still getting to by the moderators just not too quick. Usually they have been able to catch the Hackforums sold accounts too.

 

I wasn't aware people sold Sythe accounts on HackForums, I have been a member on there for quite sometime, never came across them.

 

Hushmail has a "No email recovery" policy. Sometimes it can go against you, but if you ever want to a good email that can't be recovered/stolen (unless they find out your password) then I would recommend Hushmail.

 

Gmail is also a good email which can't be recovered/stolen, to my knowledge anyway.
