    No trouble, right?

    I was just trying to sell some money over on the gold forum. Some guy MSNs me, offers a solid price, and to go first.

    We meet up in the game, I show the cash. He then sends a paypal gift to me for the amount. However, this seems too good to be true, the account seemed fishy, the guy I was talking too seemed shady, and my friends all think I should not do the trade.

    However, I already had the $700 in my paypal. I immediately refunded, told the guy why, and cancelled the trade. He then started flipping out saying he reported me for fraud and everything. Sounds like an angry failed scammer to me, but I just want to make sure that everything's alright for me.

    Is it?

    If you have actually refunded the user in question, then yes, you're safe.
    If asked, you'll need to provide proof that you have refunded him.
    That screenshot, although it shows a refund, doesn't show to whom.
    So you may be asked to prove that's his paypal address, if questioned.

    I don't see you getting into any trouble for this. But don't make any habits of it.

    Yeah my friend did. He had sent the money before we were ready anyway so there wasn't really anything we could have done about it.

    Legally it's completely clean though right? Or at least as clean as goldtrading is?

    Legally you shouldn't be trading virtural good via paypal, but yeah I see nothing wrong with refunding an cancalling a seemingly shady deal even thought you left it a bit later then most.

    Ok thanks. This is what I wanted to make sure. It was given as a "gift" and returned anyway so I was pretty sure I was good.

    Yeah I would have liked to sooner but he said the cash was sent and stuff.

    Thanks so much man. I'm getting to bed for tonight and from now on just selling to Viou and the like, even if it means less cash.

    "Gifts" are still recoverable, regardless of the payment type - Services, goods, etc;

    You have the right to back out of the trade at ANY time and refunding the $700 was a good thing to do.

    You're not in trouble, you won't get banned for doing this.

    Except I wouldn't want to make a habit of it, like RSProd said. You will get a bad reputation for trading.
