VPSes for botting - Talk about them here!

I'm considering Warp4, is there a discount code I can use and will it keep the price that month to month or just once?

Also, how many sorc bots do you guys think would work on warp4? 8?

I'm trying to decide on the best VPS to go with the best amount of bots, price ratio wise. I need to increase my farm size, I'd like another 40 bots.

 

Any way to get the rsbuddy client on photonvps servers?

Hopefully it runs just as smoothly as my first one does.
(I'm currently running 5 bots and a Minecraft server at the same time on it)

I think that there are a few, but I wouldn't recommend trying to bot on them because it probably won't support them.

 

Need help here guys.

I have a Warp 4 Photon VPS and everything has been great up until now, normally I can run around 4 RC bots + 2-3 sorc bots on it and stay within my M/CPU allowance and they all run great at good exp/money per hour on the NeXuS Clients.

Suddenly yesterday I checked and all my RCers were running at 14k exp per hour compared to the normal 19-22k.

So I went ahead and checked my memory and CPU usage and they were for some reason a lot higher than normal, so I took all the bots off and ran one bot and this is the result:



The usage is unusualy high for just ONE rc bot, and the usage continues to increase everytime I check it.

I contacted Photon and they say nothing is wrong so I'm very confused right now

Does anyone know what's up?

 

Have you tried rebooting your VPS?

Maybe try re-installing the OS?

 

I'm pretty sure it's the client doing this because I've noticed this the past few days as well with my rcPros and autofighterPros running on my pc and have had this happen... very annoying as well because they not only take up more ram, but they seem to be lagging a little more too. One of my autofighters was at around 500-600mb and then it shot upto 1gb lolz.

 

Edit- Sorry I should have said I've rebooted it about 5 times which hasn't changed anything.

I don't know how to reintall the OS though :/

 

Is it possible for photon to take away some of your resources if they expand on that particular node?

 

Who knows, somethings up anyway.. I don't know if it is Photon or the client though.

I'm thinking it's to do with Photon tbh.. because I don't really see anyone else with this client issue.. Maybe someone else on the node is overusing?

 

I was having problems with photon too, ended up rebooting and it worked out fine.

 

Hey, so how many sorc bots could warp 4 handle? Sorc rsbots, like 10? I'm not sure if I should try using rsbotting premium sorc bot since I could run a lot more of them?

I'm stuck between http://botvps.com/ultimate.html and photon.

I just want to be able to run around 10 sorc bots per a vps, and botvps seems to be able to do that for $64? While Photons Warp 4 is $82?

From everything I've read and can find it seems like both would handle 10 bots the same, and that botvps is a better deal?

From personal experience if you're going to start/expand a bot farm I don't suggest SG to begin with. From personal experience I had 50+ of my SG bots banned and my friend had 40 of his banned in the past month and a half.


Does anyone know how to just force close a specific client? If one out of eight clients is frozen it gets annoying rebooting the whole server..

 

Have a look on the past few pages, I'm sure someone brought up that issue before where you could select ones to close.

 

For a end-user, I recommend that you get XFCE4 task manager. That way you can kill specific java processes seamlessly.

For the advanced user, you can just use the jps command to get your specific java applet and then do kill -9 processId.

 

i don't think it's a vps issue. this has happened to me and it all started on monday when the update happened and i had to update my bot client as well. all ive been getting is the following:

Java memory failure
overload of cpu/memory usage
clients randomly crashing

all really annoying and stopping the ability to mass bot

 

Seriously? I've been having the exact same issues since then also, I've tried getting help on rsbots.net to no avail..
