Ps3 Vs Xbox360

personally i like the 360, but that is just because it has more games i play on it... but the ps3 is nice because u don't have to buy the live suff

First of all I'd like to first say that I'm a PS3 owner.

There's literally no better console coz it depends on what perspective you are talking about.

If its hardware wise the Xbox 360 has clearly much more balanced hardware and thus 'better' hardware.
The PS3 on the other hand is a bit bottlenecked by its GPU which translates into lower framerates, native resolutions and graphics. The PS3 really has a much more powerful CPU (which is over-rated btw), has a Blu-Ray drive but as I said the GPU is not on par with these and is proving to be a limiting factor.
Games on the Xbox 360 in fact nearly always have better and denser graphics and colours, better framerates, higher raw resolutions (rarely) etc... This is partly also due to the fact that developing games for the 360 is much easier therefore developers tend to get more juice out of it.

If its online gaming I'd also go with the Xbox 360. Xbox live clearly pwns PSN (especially now with the recent hacking scandal).

The most important criteria for me is however what games there are for each console. With the amount of exclusive games that there are on the PS3 I'd have to say that the PS3 is a much better experience!
PS3 exclusive games which are a must: Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War 3, Little Big Planet 1&2, Uncharted 1&2, Heavy Rain, Resistance 1&2, Motorstorm 2, Killzone, inFamous etc... (Most of these games are programmed by SCEE)


Anyway, you cannot really go wrong with ANY console (except the Wii) so don't worry too much about it...

 

Even though I'm a PC Gamer I will admit that at least XBOX doesn't leak your credit card and address details online.

I don't care either way, console gaming is declining. Let PC Gaming take over, we clearly have the upper hand.

 

Yeah, PCs are the real shit I must admit.
A console is however always good to have because of the lack of certain games on the PC + I can't imagine myself playing some games without a controller (even though I use my PS3 controller on my PC sometimes but its a pain in the ass to set up sometimes).

The thing that amazes me about consoles is that their hardware is very out-dated compared to the average PC yet awesome games are still coming out on consoles (sure console games are much more optimized since they run on the same hardware and most games are upscaled) but take Crysis 2 for example!

You have to admit that such a hardware intensive game runs pretty good on the consoles. My PC (which consists of an i7 clocked at 4.01GHz, an ATi 5870 and 6gb RAM) doesn't run Crysis a whole lot better compared to the console versions considering how much more powerful my PC is.

 

Remember that graphics are tinted down a bit on the XBOX and PS3.

Plus on PC we have emulators, so we can play any game we want anyway.

 

Ive got both and honestly i would have to say 360.
Ps3 has better graphics which is good - built in browser.
but 360 online gaming is just a whole lot better than PS3 i have to text chat my friends ot go on sythe, also little things like 360 getting COD maps earlier is a boost, and of course GOW.

 

Really? You bought the map packs for that terrible game? Save your money for Modern Warfare 3 mate honestly.

 

I think the psn server being down and people having the bank accounts emptied makes 360 better.

I have both, but I get more enjoyment out of my 360 and playing online. both are good consoles but for me the 360 simply provides more hours of enterntainment compared to the ps3.

 

If I didn't have so many friends that have an Xbox I'd probably get a PS3 but I hardly use my 360 anymore so I have no intentions of buying a new system.

 

Xbox is better, have you heard of the hack on PS3? Xbox is 10x more secure and xbox has way more better connection than ps3. Xbox also gets exclusive DLC first, like map packs and stuff..

And dont forget the most important thing why xbox is the best...

I prefer PS3 over Xbox mainly because i have owned a playstation 1 , 2 and now 3.. I did own an Xbox (the first one that was released) and didnt like the remote at all. I know that most of this topic has posted they like the lay out of the xbox controller over PS3 , i guess its just what im used to.

Concerning the layout for online gaming and graphic , yes i am aware that Xbox wins at both aspects but, i dislike the fact you have to pay a yearly fee to play online. I rarely play PS3 online these days. I also like the "PS3 media server" program that links your compute wirelessly to your PS3 and allows you to play music and movies online. Mostly for the fact i can watch a whole series of movies without having to get out of bed to change the DVD.

Xbox would be good but im too used to PS3, i also like Gran Tourismo series lol.. and never really got into Halo as i was always more of a counter strike/WoW/Battlefield/Runescape/HoN fan and just never found the time.
