How to gage your ears?

Right now I have 1ct diamonds in, but I'm thinking about selling them and gagging my ears.

If anyone has any advice on how to do it, please post here! Also does it hurt and how long does it take to reach zero?

 

I don't have them but a lot of my friends do and I know about them...

I believe 16 or 14 is the average.
A lot of my friends went from 14 to 10 to 8 to 6.
If your looking to take the least painful way just go down the line.

 

Is it possible to go from 16 to 12? In other words skip a size?

I originally wanted some but I was convinced to just pierce my ears with diamond earrings instead.

It takes a while to reach 0, I believe you have to wait weeks inbetween each number so you don't mess up.
If you're looking to get a job you'll most likely regret getting them gauged.

Don't worry he is going to get a ban, but on topic. I know quite a few people with them and if you are willing to deal with the trouble then go for it. Though they stink horribly if not taken care of properly and if you want normal earlobes again you have to pay an arm and a leg for plastic surgery because most legit employer doesn't want someone with huge dangling earlobes.

 

Wellllll. Like xyammahax said, just go down the line.. You'll have to buy these things called "tapers" or something like that and basically they're just a long, pointed earring with 2 rubber stoppers. Buy the ones for the size you want to be(usually the next size down), not the one you are and push them through..
So if you're 14, get a 12 and push it through. wait a couple weeks until it' not sore anymore, a nd go for the next size. Clean it multiple times a day otherwise it will start to stink.

If you want a tip, here it is..
They're 10x easier and less painful if you push the next size through right after you've taken a long hot shower. It loosens up your skin and such.

You're looking at over 2 months for a 0. If you rush it, maybe less time but more pain.

 

From a 16 to a 12 is nothing at all.

I began my ears with a 10, and worked from a 10 to 6, that hurt a little, but it only stung for about 15 minutes.

I'm currently at a 4, and I'm probably gonna stop at a 2 or a 0.

Your question about skipping sizes: yes, you can.

I suggest probably even going from 16 to 10, because 10 is a good starter.

The best way to do this is by going to your local piercing/tattoo parlor, and having them do it...otherwise you could fuck up and bleed a lot, which would suck, and you'd ruin your ears.

It usually costs from $20-$50 for starting, and $5 per revisit for stretching, so it's not extremely expensive, and you HAVE to take good care of them, or else you could run the risk of infection.
