What do you think of religious recruiters?

As a religious person, they annoy me. You don't need to influence people to try and come join your church.

 

I like it when the mormon missionaries come to my door because you can get them to do jobs and chores for free then just make them leave. They are always offering and willing to clean the yard mow the lawn or wash my car or something and they don't even care when I say I don't want to hear what they have to say.

I have never had a christian missionary come to my door but If I did I would be glad to see someone spreading something I believe in, and I would be inviting to them.

However when a Jehovah's Witness' comes to my door that makes me mad. First off they are generally rude around my neighborhood. They came to our door yesterday, ON EASTER, honestly that is just rude and not a way they should expect to get people to join their church. On top of that I think what they believe in is a joke and I tend to tell them to leave immediately.

 

I'll do exactly what my step-father once did, and they never returned. I'll answer the door completely naked, and lecture them on why they shouldn't knock on my door at 8AM on a sunday morning.

 

Hah! that's great! I like your thinking, I don't know if we have any morons around here, but if we do I may just move into a mormon neighborhood for that purpose.

 

I have no problem with others' beliefs, or religion. But, when they come up, ring my doorbell, and ask what my religion is, then it starts to bother me. I generally tell religious recruiters that I am Satanist; I'm really Atheist. They usually stop and stare for a moment, and try to "imbue" their beliefs into me. I don't mind friendly recruiting, but this is too far.

 

It's annoying honestly 3 of them came yesterday with a little girl and they ask you questions like will the world ever be peaceful I'm like hell no, and they are like why not. I'm like ughh too much to explain.

The worst thing is that I believe in my religion and you can't expect an area filled with Indians to convert, it will never happen. My neighbors tied their dog out and he scared the shit out of them.

I see them again the next morning and just tied my dog outside

 

Yes, I do. To say that the probability of god existing is .5 is blatant nonsense.

We have here two events, namely, that God exists (1), and that God does not exist (2). Simply having two mutually exclusive events does not imply that they are equally probably (ex. Russel's teapot), so I'm wondering what sources you have which show this to be the case.

 

It depends how extreme they are. Like this group was picketting at my high school with signs saying "soldiers aren't heros" which pissed me off

 

Those people are annoying as fuck.
Even if you stay calm, and just so, no im not interested, they keep talking, and won't go away.
They always reach some point, that i just slam the door in their face.

 

People need to fuck off with trying to sell religions and give people a second to come up with their own opinion of faith.

 

Perhaps annoying, but they should have the right to say what they want. You also have the right to not allow people solicit on your property. You can put up a sign.

They're not really doing anything wrong. I wouldn't tell them to GTFO my property but, I'd rather not listen to what they have to say.

 

Exactly how I feel about it.
