Aren't both execution by firing squad and hanging outlawed in many states (if not all)?

As much as I agree it's stupid, illegal is illegal. Follow the law and this wouldn't happen.

The scary thing is, while they're busy locking up pot dealers pedophiles and murderers roam free in the streets...

No, he would still be made to serve his full sentence. Just because it is no longer illegal, doesn't mean you have the right to be let out of jail.

Also, i'm a pro legalisation supporter, however, i do believe this man deserved some time in prison. The sentence of 35 years is extremely harsh, but that is America's prison system for you. However, he deliberately re-offended several times over the course of 5 years. Of course, a few years + rehabilitation would be a much better course of action for this indivual, but that's America for you.

Bit severe but it's more principle than the actual crime itself.

I feel the judge was making an example of this guy

Fucking stupid. Just plain ass stupid! It's an herb, and some legal over-the-counter drugs give the near-same effect. :\

    Three things here :

    1. Elect Ron Paul
    2. Wait for all the oldtimers to die out in Congress/Senate.
    3. FUN

i think most people are overlooking the fact its a REPEAT offence
not only that but he violated his PROHBATION terms.
holy hell this is quite a bit if you guys dont realize this
yes i do understand "pot should be legal anyways!" but it isnt. laws are laws
also if you think america sucks so bad go to a different country honestly. you have the freedom to do so.
anyways i dont care much about the marijuana issue. i guess everyone has preferences (i prefer it stay illegal) i also dont care to much for drinking.
    anyways. lololololol
