What's your reason you play Runescape?
You can include details, how did you started out, how much you're playing... Almost everything about Runescape in your life

My reason:


I started back in 2006, I was a kid, didn't knew too much about online games... So, a friend of mine told me he knows an nice game he found out on miniclip.com, he told me you can cook fish, and burn it , you can cut trees, you can run and walk Kill cows, do quests, wear nice armor, mining, smithing... Every skill with a little details.

As I didn't knew anything, it impressed me, and I started playing, and did it for a long time, till 2009 or so.

Then this got boring for me... And I realised this is a waste of time, and I'd better read something, instead of playing, or I'd better go run outside/play basketball, instead of f*cking my sight at computer.

I started back in 2005 when a friend of my brother told him about the game and my brother started playing. He encouraged me and my sister to play and being a little kid I thought the game was pretty cool and I can remember the excitement of playing with my brother and sister and finding a whole new world when we finally bought membership.

We all quit at around 2007 and I came back at the start of this year, and they soon followed me although they have since quit again. I have still been playing quite a lot today although I have lost some interest after being cleaned.

 

Nice story man, I do remember the excitement too when I walked through varrock, lumbridge... And when I bought my first rune scimitar

 

Yep, I thought the game was amazing. Its pretty sad to see how drastically your opinion changes when you grow up. I also remember when I bought my first rune scimitar - can't remember a time when I was so excited lol.

 

i remember i was afraid to leave varrock cause i knew varrock but didnt know the rest of runescape and thought i would die if i left

 

Haha, I remember when I was so scared of the wilderness because I thought your account would be deleted if you die. And when I mean scared, I mean genuinely scared.

 

gosh i remember long ago back in 2001 i was looking for something to do.. my computer couldnt handle very many games so i started to play runescape.. it was pretty cool just walking around buying all kinds of crap and i remember the first day i bought a r2h and walked in the wilderness (r2h was best wep in classic f2p) i was just walking around then i accidentally clicked someone (mind you i was like 12 lol) then i was like "oops my bad sorry man" then hes all like hey its all good! then he asks me to go deeper with him so we can pk n00bs and then he just turns around killing me.. lost my first r2h then quit for like 2 years..

came back i became a member and started up on doing fletching realizing how FAST it was.. got to 70 in 1 night.. easy day.. was just running around as a member for the most part exploring and what not (rs 2 had just came out)

 

I once lost some 10k, and was kinda dissapointed. The way I lost is simple

I dropped some of my stuff in a far away place, I didn't knew anybody will go there and take it and also didn't knew these things're gonna disappear soon

Yeah Bud, others see runescape as an medium of making money Good aswell... As you see, I'm trying to sell out my account.

 

I play runescape because I was 10 years old when I started, and I got addicted to it. Lol

 

Heh, I had great plans in this game, I was thinking day and night of how to earn lots of money in game instead of in my life lol...

Well a friend of mine introduced me to RuneScape back in 2005 but I only started playing in 2006. It seemed boring at first but once I got the hang of it the game seemed pretty fun and I got addicted ever since.

 

I started in 2005 because it was fun. Then I found sythe 2 years later and got involved in botting and whatnot. I enjoyed having my stats leveled while I was out and stuff. I left rs for a while, and came back a few months ago, just to play again. Now I am bored of it, and I am just going to be staking and buying/selling gold.

 

My reason: why not?

 

attempted to play in 05, but i had dial up so i disconnected even at tutorial island. then came back in 06, and quit around mid 08, then came back at 09, quit again. came back 10 quit again. then found out botting, and my interest in the game flourished

 

Back in 2004/2005 two of my friends kept talking about it, I finally looked it up and played til 2009. Then I stopped, I just started again, botting of course

 

My story is almost exactly the same as yours, I was a kid and my friend told me about the game. However, I started in 2005.

It was appealing to me, and I was referred through Miniclip as well.

I played for about 2 years, and quit for a year. And then picked it up for a few months after that, and then quit again.

About a month before free trade was reinstated, I was notified from an irl friend that it might come back if you vote etc. etc.

I decided to start again, however, I'm a lot busier with school, sports and a lot of extra curricular activities so I just decided to bot. I rarely play now, it's mainly just for entertainment for like 1 hour on weekends. Usually I'm just botting.

 

I started in 2001 and absolutely loved it. At first all I did was pick up bronze scimitars in Rimmington (I think that's what it's called - west of port sarim) and sell them to a general store for GP. Classic noob. Then I became in love with pking and made tons of different accounts and had a blast. I quit for many months at a time or even years at a time and now I find it quite boring and usually just bot everything because it's not as fun as it used to be.
