How Does Name Buying Work?

Hey guys. Was just curious how name buying works. I want to transfer a rare name to a pure account of mine however, doesn't transfering a name take 28+ days or something? Is there a way to change the name from one account to another instantly? All help is greatly appreciated!

This is the thing about names... If you spend alot of a rare name then try to transfer it, there's a good chance a bot or someone might steal your name at the last second and then your f'd.

Name transfering from what I know can be risky. Wish there was a quick and safer way though otherwise i'd defo be in the name market.

 

Not sure, never been very 'huge' in the market. See it happening occasionally.

How I assume it would go, would be that you buy the account with the rare name, you move the name off it by making it members, and choosing another name. After the elapsed time, the 'rare' name is available, and you choose it on your main.

It is risky though.

 

Sounds like a pain to try and get it before someone steals it and that long month wait must also be a pain.

 

Well you can change you username and it officially gets active in ten minutes,then you must wait twenty-eight days until it renews,so if the rare name seller changes his name to something else,and if you can change your username since you didn't change it for twenty eight days to the rare username right after he or she does,that should be the quickest and safest way to actually get the username,the thing is though,it's easy to scam off of.

I have no experience in name changing/swapping
But I'm quite sure it's goes like this, for this example I'll use the name "god"

Seller has the name "god" and changes it to anything he wants to, I'm quite sure that even after 28 days when his name is ??? No one can steal it unless he changes his name again to something other then "god"

So when he sells the name it he is simply selling his reserved spot on the name.

I can remember others trying to steal my account name and even others in my clan trying to trick me into doing so, so I read up on how it works quite a while ago.

Don't qoute me on the above but it would be good to see someone that knows 100% , to confirm.

 

u dont have to wait 28days to change a name for the 1st time....if u did change ur name u have to wait 28 days before u can get a new name

 

Change your "rare" name account to something offensive.

Have that account pm you on another account.

Report it for offensive name.
As soon as it gets changed to 234058234059240359240394030404350943505, change your other account to the "rare" name.
