1 vs 13 vs 31 Prayer?

Hey guys. I have an obby mauler with the current stats.

Combat: 40

1 attack
86-87 strength
46 Hp
1 Def
1 Prayer

Now I'm considering getting Prayer but I have no idea what is best for an obby mauler.

1 Prayer:

Pros: Least amount of Cmb Levels
Cons: Cannot protect berserker neck. Lower hits.

13 Prayer:

Pros: Ava's accumulator. A little bit higher hits.
Cons: Higher combat level. Still cannot protect neck.

31 Prayer:

Pros: Max hits. Ava's. Can protect neck.
Cons: Highest combat level = more difficult opponents.

So what do you guys say? Should I stay 1, or move to 13 or possibly 31? This is a rough situation for me and keep in mind at 13 and 31 prayer I will be risking neck skulled.

 

I think you should stay at 1 but how are you pking now? If your doing good then obviously stay at 1 prayer. If you were to get pray get 31 because i dont think there would be much point of only getting 13.

 

I personally would try and get 31 pray because im guessing the loots arent very good at low lvls.

Just go for 31, even though your opponents wil be harder, you can still hit more so it kinda equals out, plus you get more loot

 

Go for 43 prayer! protect from melee is so good.

 

Well, try out 13 for a while. Then, if you dont like it, go to 31. IMO, 13 would most likely better becuase it will only raise ur cb a small amount. just conserve pray points.

That is a valid point. But think about the benefits of 43 prayer.

 

I have a Maxed Obby Mauler. He was 99 str at 50 combat, and then I decided to get him prayer. Worst decision I could have made. Those extra 4-5 combat levels made him prey for all of the Blitz-ready Granite Rushers. For you though, since you're lower combat, you could probably get away with it and still stay in that "sweet-spot" of lower level pking where DBows are prime for k0ing. In my experience any pures that I have used always were the best with 31 prayer. If you are still thinking about choosing I would recommend going for that. The 15% strength really makes a big difference.

get 31, protect item & +15% will make a big difference

 

Keep in mind too what worlds you'll be pking. Prot Item will of course not work on all of them.

 

I would say stay at 1 because i cant be bothered going to the altar back and forth all the time and also it gets you too much cmbs level up .

 

I'd say get 31 pray once u reach 99 str just to be able to max out
Stay at 1 pray if you plan on staking, but idk if obby maulers stake plus ur hp is for pkin
13 pray is for rushers i guess...obby rush? naa

 

I would suggest you get 31 prayer after you are over 52 combat.

I would also suggest you raise your HP, to at least 10 above your combat level.

 

get 31prayer at 99str..

 

I'm thinking about 31 prayer.. It will make my max a lot higher and I will be able to protect my valuables. I might try 13 first as recommended though. Keep the ideas coming!

 

Prayer has always been helpful to me. Get it to 31.
