    -Question about Tattoos-

So... I will be able to donate/recieve blood after 6 months? Some people in my class were saying it was like a year? Is that true?

    -Question about Tattoos-

personally i have no tattoos, BUT alot of my friend went through what your going through, i have quite a few of them that got tattoos around their 18th birthday just because they could and only a few of them regret it, the problem with it is like you said getting it removed later or regretting it,

if i was you i would probably sit on it until u come up with something that means alot to you to get tattooed on u, like something you would be happy to show everyone you know that u have BUT nothing something u feel like u might not like later, when in doubt, don't do it. Tattoos are really cool and can be fun. The people that i know that have multiple tattoos said that getting one after a specific event in your life that is a big deal is the best time to get one, something u can look back and and be like "yeah that was an awesome time" or something that inspires you were their favorite tattoos (note: this is out of the people that didn't regret any of theirs and had more then 1 tattoo)

also u can get it covered up by another tattoo later if u don't like it

go with something smaller in my opinion no need to get a full sleeve or back on ur first tattoo

    -Question about Tattoos-

If you do it at a clean tattoo shop chances in getting disease reduces alot. I have one tattoo just under my shoulder so its not visible due to the job thing also. One tip do not put too much moisturizer on it(i learnt the hard way) and keep away from sun and chlorine.

    -Question about Tattoos-

My only real concern is the ability to give/receive blood. I would never get something ridiculously large or explicit.

Provided the tattoo isn't larger than a large dinner plate, you'll be fine unless you contract a disease from the tattoo parlor. ;) You should never get a tattoo from a non-reputable place, anyway. A lifetime investment is worth paying another $50 for it being done right and safely.

By the way, when you put it on Facebook, please wait at least until the redness and swelling goes down. It makes the tattoo look a lot better. Those just-after-I-got-home shots of the tattoos are a pet peeve of mine. :p

    -Question about Tattoos-

From someone who's pretty much set on being covered in tattoos and has a fair few now, the advice I'd give you is:

    1. Pay the extra money for a good artist, there's nothing worse than a crappily done tattoo, look at their portfolios and make sure you're happy with their work, I've had a few crap ones done and am considering getting them redone or covered up.

    2. Tattoos aren't against religion or negative in any way, it's society's view on them which generally makes them taboo in some areas. This is Mike Hranica and believe it or not he's the lead singer in a Christian metal band. Yeah he looks pretty evil but he praises god during concerts etc.

I haven't had any negative effects apart from regretting not getting them done by someone with more experience, you get what you pay for in most cases (unless the artist completely rips you off).

    -Question about Tattoos-

Tattos are not worth the trouble at all in my view. The long term you will end up regretting it. Very few can say without lying that they are happy with tattos. Tattos have a STRONG stigma and it will follow you and hunt you everywhere you go. That being said, it's your own choice as to ink your cells or not.

    -Question about Tattoos-

I have a cross on my shoulder, which I got when I was 18, I don't regret it. I like the location because I can still wear a tee shirt or a polo for a job and not have it show. I've even had a few friends still who go "When did you get that?" I've seen all my friends getting tattoos recently and none of them have had negative effects. Also you won't be able to give/recieve blood, you just can't for like a year in some states.

I am 24 now and have had both my grandfather and grandmother die, so I plan to add on to that with something for them maybe a couple bible verses or something. Also I have had a few friends die young so that's another plan for something maybe all their intials somewhere on it.

    -Question about Tattoos-

There shouldn't be any kind of disease contracted if the needles are clean and your going to a shop. Having friends do them is more dangerous.

The regrets I can think of are poorly done art and location, see how the artist can hand draw what you want and check out what they've done in the past. Get your first somewhere that isn't visible, it can really haunt people who can't cover them up for jobs or work. Tattoos are an art, not a sin.

Have fun with it too, best of luck. :D

    -Question about Tattoos-

I personally don't have any tattoo's, but I can speak on behalf of several of my friends that it is definitely ill advised. You might be caught up in the moment and may think "I'm a cool kid now that I have a tattoo", but chances are...weeks/months/years down the line you'll most likely regret making that choice.

On a more positive note, I do have several friends that have gotten tattoo's at a relatively young age (by relatively young I mean 16-17) and several years after getting them they would choose to get it again if given the chance.

It's really your decision and your call, you said you wanted to get some sort of Aztec symbol + Planets, but if there is no sentimental value of these said tattoo's than you'll most likely come to regret the decision years down the line. Just take a step back and try and imagine yourself with these tattoo's when you're a father, a grandfather, and an old man. Also keep in mind that a lot of people don't share the same views as you when it comes to tattoo's, and in today's society it's generally looked down upon.

    -Question about Tattoos-

I'm not worried so much about 'society frownging upon it'. If people don't like the fact I have a tattoo, fuck em. As I've said, I wouldn't get anything offensive/suggestive/explicit, I'd get something that has meaning to me. I plan on getting it on my upper arm or shoulder, so that, like djweaserl said, I can wear a T-shirt or something and it won't be too visible if I ever need to go apply for a job or for any other event that might require me looking formal.
