Free -m is weird, it says I have 14 free, but I'll attempt to add a bot then the -m will be like 10 free.



So it's ok to use some SWAP up?

Think I could squeeze anymore bots into this persia? Atm have 4 rcers and 3 sorc running, would be another sorc bot if I had room.

 

Hey guys, just bought a VPS and I am getting this problem with the bot client updating.



I keep re-updating but there is no new version to update to. Any help?

 

Try downloading and installing the client from scratch. It's possible that it's a temporary problem on impsoft's side so you may want to check the rsbots.ent forums.

 

Tried it again a few hours later and it's working now :S

 

Hey, I'm looking into botting on a VPS as I'm really overloading the CPU on my laptop with 14 bots running... So I've done a great amount of research and came up with this one; PhotonVPS WARP4. One problem; the chat assistant told me he couldn't help me with any more Runescape issues, and I'm wondering, how many bots can this thing run? I mean RAM must be the bottleneck... 8 Intel E5520 Cores? That's wild.

 

I can run 8 sorceress garden bots, at least. I'm sure you could get 10 sorc bots going..

It really just depends on the bot which you are running on how many you can run on W4. Obviously a soul wars bot will use more RAM than a sorceress garden bot.

But W4 is awesome and I really recommend it!

 

Thanks for the feedback! I know that a good reflection of how good the bots are running is how much money you're making per hour... so what do you make running 8 bots (on each)? If you don't mind me asking. I'm just confused, I don't understand how my quad core laptop is able to run 14 nearly flawless (avg 160k/h), whereas an 8-core would only be able to run 8-10? Also, is the 5000GB monthly bandwidth enough to bot 24/7/4 on the 8 accounts?

 

All I can think of is that you aren't updating the client properly. What exactly are you doing to update it?

 

Console: sh install-mac-linux.sh, choose Linux GTK 32bit, change number to 472, and run.

I got it to work by waiting it out both times(this happened to me a few weeks ago.)

Depends on the bots you run. I would recommend Warp 2 because you have twice the amount of Ram, so you'll be safe.

Also, I didn't have a good experience with Seerhost. I did like the fact that it was cheaper than Photon, though. You can try them, if you'd like, maybe you'll have a different experience. Seerhost crashed the client for me way too much and that was really inconvenient for me. I've heard that Seerhost can oversell their resources being that they are an OpenVZ provider, while I can buy XEN from Photon. I just like the added security of knowing that my clients never crash on Photon and I think that is worth the money.

If anything, try one this month and the other this month. Maybe you'll have different results, and let Sythe know how it went, we'd really appreciate that

Which bot exactly? Depending on the bot maybe warp 1, but that would be pushing it most likely. With warp 2 you would have no problem at all. Again, we need to know which bot.. some require more cpu than others.

 

A 1 GiGabyte Vps should be fine, which will set you back 15$ (USD), Seeing how you will only run one bot this would be the option for you, Personally i have several vps's with Seerhost, i find them really good haven't really tried anywhere else but i know that they are a hell of alot cheaper than PhotonVps, Other sites you can try is Vpsinfinity.com (owned and operated by some highly respected people from Rsbots.net), Vpsbotting.com i'd personally try those three before PhotonVps, but thats just my opinion gl on getting a vps.

 

I was planning on using a bot just for general skilling purposes (firemaking, cooking, combat, ect). Anyways thanks guys, I got the photonvps and it works great. But do you think warp 1 would be enough or should I switch to warp 2 next month?
