    Mozilla Firefox 3.6??

Anyone got a installation version for 3.5 or 3.6 because fafsa doesn't support the fag 4.0 version

I know if you download something called "Tor Browser" it is really just an older version of FF that uses Tor.
    https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en

But it's something of a proxy and will change the IP you display. It will also be a bit slower than anything else.

Not a good plan for general use for a couple reasons:

1:: You're at the mercy of other people's software
2:: Routing your traffic through another (or multiple) machines tends to be a bad Idea if you're trying to keep passwords safe.

The difference between tor and another proxy is a normal proxy is just a daemon on a host machine. Tor is a daemon on an active system (typically while the user is still about). Try opening up wireshark, and acting as a tor node. Then filter traffic src of the people you're sharing your bandwith with.

It's nice, it's useful, it's handy, but common sense should most definitely be applied.

Of course. I was just throwing it out there that it's an older version of firefox that will be compatible with the fafsa and all that nonsense. You can also disable it from using Tor, so in the end it's just the regular, older version of firefox..

Yea definitly, firefox is getting the short end of the stick. Mozzilla's big 'FUCK YOU~!' to 'the man' is seamonkey. For a few versions ffx hasn't been able to run the jre plugin. Instead the created the seamonkey web browser so they can work around alot of the issues. Never really poked into with with windows though, afaik that's just a *nix issue. Seamonkey is still a great alternative.
