My Tattoo :P

Took me 3 years to decide on what exactly i wanted. Its not finished just yet though, going to get tribal coming from the side of the writing to be like Plane Wings, and then tribal coming down the center of my back to be the tail of the Plane. Its in memory of my grandad who passed away of Cancer, and also in memory of all the people close to me who have passed away from it as the light purple ribbon is a symbol for all types of cancer.

I do not like tattoos, but I have always respected anyone who gets art done in memory of loved ones.

thanks. Im sort of the same, im only ok with ones that have a true meaning. My brother has got 9 tattoo's on different parts of his body, and only 2 mean something. Half of them he got when he was drunk. It took me ages to decide on wether or not to get one, and i eventualy decided to make sure it was something fully meaningful. It was also a sign of respect to my sisters best friend who is only 7 and is currently undergoing treatment for a cancer in his brain.

Edit: @ Delta: I understand where your coming from m8, although it is smaller than what is shown in the pic. For some reason the pic makes it look as if it takes up 1/2 of my back, when it realy only takes up ~1/4. When i get it finished, it will take up a lot more of the back, but then it will be in the shape of a plane which was my grandads favourite activity and passion.

 

I don't like the design/artwork all, but everyone has their personal preferences. However, the meaning behind it is nice.

 

Thanks. I would have chosen different writing, but it was the closest font i could find to my grandads writing. He was like a dad to me, he took my paragliding, snowboarding, scuba diving. He was the coolest person in my life and was taken away from me way to young. :'(

I like the idea... My grandmother is a breast cancer survivor luckily.

 

Maybe if it weren't so overwhelmingly big it would look good, though the sentiment behind the symbol is nice.

 

like i said in a previous post, the pic just makes the tattoo look huge. Its not realy that big once u see it properly. Ill try and get a better pic of it soon.

 

I'm glad you're getting one that actually means something important rather than just something that looks cool. It looks pretty good

 

Decent tatoo because it means something but I wouldn't stand not being able to see something thats on my skin for the rest of my life .

 

Thanks, one of the reasons i got it on my back was because i know that wherever my grandad is now, i know he is watching my back always.

tbh i dislike tattoos but if its in memory of a loved one then its fine by me.
