I play a shitload of guitar. I occasionally get asked by Sythe members to show some videos/recordings of me playing, so I created this thread. I used to have a thread like this, but it was getting too annoying to constantly update (I now have 110+ videos on Youtube, probably around 75% of which are covers), so I'm doing it again but only with my favourite ones. The majority of music I play is punk and ska, but I enjoy playing music from bands of different genres as well (Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Iron Maiden, etc)

Guitars I use: 2004 Gibson Les Paul Studio
Epiphone Les Paul Standard w/ Bigsby tremolo

Equipment:
(Current) Line 6 Spider IV 75 Watt Amp, w/FBV Shortboard Mk.II (Switch board with 4 channels, effects, wah/volume pedal)

(Old and retired) Traynor DG 15 Watt amp, occasionally with a Boss DS-1 Distortion pedal, no longer used after December 2010.

Killing in the name? Thanks haha, that recording is really old. My band usually covers it when we play live.

I watched the first two. How long have you been playing the guitar? Were classes involved? Great skills!

 

I've been playing seriously for about 3 years, but I've been fooling around on them for about 5-6. I'm almost 100% self taught, the only thing I had help with was learning how to read tabs.

I listened to the first 2, and although I generally listen to more heavy music, I quite liked the songs you played. I've always wanted to learn to play guitar, but I'm not self-motivated nor committed enough. Good luck improving and I hope you keep at it :love:

What did you use to record the audio/video?

 

Some Sony HD camera for all of them since 2010. The rest was on a different digital camera. I play most of the backing music through a Sony iPod dock, used a Bose one and laptop speakers for some
