New Recovery System - Jagex

You don't need to know the registered e-mail to recover an account, period.
And yes It basicly works same as the old one did.
Very comfortable for me personally.

 

What can be done to make a successful recovery, if you wanted to buy an account?

The method I usually use is for me to have possesion over account for several months for my ip to sink in account. But is there any other way?

You can still recover an account without knowing the email address. And an email address doesn't trump recovery questions. Most of the time you can't recover an account off an email address alone.

 

The main difference is that it stops hackers hacking your account. Although, I've heard that it's even easier which is pretty silly. I'm not sure why Jagex changed it though.

 

From the looks of it, as long as you're the only one that knows the email that is registered to it, it's seems it's impossible for anyone else to recover it

if you buy an account from someone, and for one reason or other they want to recover it, they can. Even if you set your own email and recovs. New system is just a big a fail as the last one

 

I always use a random email, then for the "email for tracking" at the bottom, I put a brand new email I just made.

No, one of my accounts recently got hacked and the hacker registered an email on it but I was able to provide enough information including all previous membership info to recover it back in the nick of time as well (bank pin was 4 hrs from being deleted xD). I'm sure it was a script from powerbot.

Meh, my account is 100% safe, so I'm not fussed.

My email is protected by MSN verification, I could post my email and pass up and still you wouldn't be able to get on.
My recovery questions are randomly generated, and I have them written down, as even I can't remember them.

I doubt anyone could hack my account except RSBuddy, PowerBot, or NeXuS.

 

How do you get MSN verification? If you can tell me this, I can prevent my email from being hacked. Thanks,

If you chnage your password or Email or Recs + Dif IP the account becomes locked...

Its not safe to buy/sell account the hole thing is based on your IP now and orginal owner can recover it back alot easyer/quicker.

 

That's why I used the method of where the original owner or ip used most often lets me on account for several months for my ip to get stronger. Therefore, I will be capable of recovering in the future. But the problem may be that the original owner's ip has been on the account for the amount he played and mine for about 6 months. Jagex or the bot whoever does appeals will notice the original owner over me.

But now, I am just confused about the new system. Does email play the important part or its the same as the old appeal setup.

 

Recovery Questions play the important part now mate.

Along with Contact details.

Not too sure about Email though.

 

By who? Jagex makes a lot of simple updates that go unannounced.

JaGex make plenty of changes all the time, they don't announce them. They only announce things that change in-game.

Also, if you took one look at the recovery process now and you've recovered before it'll instantly click that it's change.. that is unless you suffer from memory loss.
