New Recovery System - Jagex

If I have a registered email on an account, can I only recover it now?
Someone please clear this for me and how the new recovery system works.

So are you saying that you can't even attempt recovering an account with an email registered onto it, unless you know the email?

 

I don't know if it is fully safe as of yet,
I just wanted to know how it works due to its a completely different set up to recover.

New system is pretty same as it was, just the other kind of setting up password

 

What do you mean by other kind? For example, I buy a rs account, I set my own recovery questions and email. Can the original owner still recover using the new system?

 

You don't need the email to recover an account.

Yeah you still can, jus' put a random email address, and it will take you to a regular appeal request thing.

It's completely changed.
If the account you are trying to recover has an email attached on to it, you'll need to provide that email address to even move further with the recovery. Oh, and, if someone else even knows that email address, I'm pretty sure they can lock the account. So, you might want to make a new email simply to register your accounts on.

 

Im pretty sure you're wrong dude, I recovered few accounts and I typed an email that I never attached to accouns and they just contacted to me saying it was accepted =|

 

As long as you have access to the email you should have no problem recovering the account.

 

If you type the wrong email twice, it will take you to the recovery page as normal and you input your details and recover it. I had to get help off somebody else here on Sythe, so no, your accounts still aren't completely safe when you have an email address on it, it's just more "retarded" proof if you like.

 

if there wads a new system wouldn't everyone know about it because it would be announced?

 

I believe the method to unregister an email without having access to the current email, or even knowing it, is still do-able. I will have to try, though.

 

Gonna bring alot of scamming =/
