Hey guys I got threatened by a RS player that received my IP that he would DDoS me for a week with a $20 program. I'm wondering if this is possible?

 

Lol don't worry spending 10 years for ddos someone is not worth any cost of hatred or stupidy.

 

Yes, it is very possible. What you can do: Manually change your IP address; Call up your provider and change it, or just call his bluff and see if he really does it.

Edit: Has happened to me before; You can't exactly trace DOS' attacks if the program is very good.

 

I doubt he will do anything. simply change your ip... what did you do to make him angry? lol

 

I cleaned his ass staking multiple times haha. But is changing your IP free?

possible ... will he do it... you said you cleaned him loads of times so obvoisly these threats were e-rages... therefore you will notice that he doesnt exceed the age of 14... thus proving that you are safe.

Call your ISP, or change a few settings under your router settings (192.168.1.1 in your browser, for most routers)

And in order to ddos you for days on end, would require him to have a large botnet, or know someone who does.
Or he will have to pay big $ for it.

 

If you just met him on runescape there is no chance for him to get your ip so nothing can happen.

 

How did he get your ip from staking? If that's all there was to it, and you didn't use any other programs like skype, then he can't ddos..

 

This, Runescape is serverside, not host based. There's not a chance in hell he was able to get your IP, total bluff.

 

I'm almost positive that this is just a bluff. If you're still a bit paranoid, you can always change your IP just as a precaution.

 

There's no way he got your Ip from Runescape unless you went to his Website,Ventrillo etc.

 

He's an idiotic fool.

Ignore his bluff, and unplug your router to change your IP, or just fuck with him and use reverse psychology on him.

I've been threatened to be DDOSED before when logging into a Ventrilo by some kids before.
I told them I guessed there Admins password (which was a 16 year old kid), they didn't believe me. I logged onto the Admin account > Rcon > Typed command "Status", afterwards put there IP's into the comment box for proof, instant respect afterwards. Course, I perm banned them from that Ventrilo just for being idiotic fools, couldn't let a opportunity like that pass by. : P

If he was to DDoS you, he'd have done it whilst staking.
