Chaotic Rapier or Chaotic Maul?

I've finally managed the dungeoneering level and coins required to buy one of the two, but I can't decide on which to buy.

Which would you choose, from a PKers standpoint? Why?

 

Depends on a multitude of factors. What's your combat level, what's your defence, what's your preferred style of PKing?

 

My knowledge in this subject is not great, but I thought the other sword was the best for pvp?

Maxed combat stats, so level 126 in wild. Style of PKing? Err...I usually bring vengeance, curses, rune or barrows, and fight fair and straight up with other meleers.

 

I'd definitely go with a maul then. You can combo it with vengeance, it rips through defence and your maxes will be insane with turmoil.

 

Yeah, the only thing that kept me from getting the Maul was the speed. I hate making choices...I'm like a deranged old lady on crack trying to pick a favorite detergent. Woe is me!

 

Keep in mind that you can always get both. Obtaining the second chaotic is much less difficult than the first one (I think the second is 80-85 dung).

2nd chaotic is 87.
Get rapier, can pk and PVM.

Great for staking/pking/pvm/slayer. Maul is the second thing to get :O

 

Went with the Maul first, I don't really slay or stake. And I rarely pvm now, having maxed stats. Most of my time revolves around PKing. And my first four fights went amazingly. I <3 my Maul.

 

If all you do is PK then go maul. Otherwise, rapier would be more useful if you were planning on doing other things then just PKing.

I currently believe you should get both, save up. But if you really have to choose, I'd go with the maul, as it rips through defense, and can easily destroy.

 

You made the right choice, if your predominant purpose is for PKing.
I would suggest to still get the rapier to mix things up!

 

Rapier, In my opinion maul is too slow and too inaccurate. Even when I am wearing maxed gear it fails to hit. Rapier almost always hits decently and quite quickly.

Oh, just noticed you already chose. Anyways I'd still say get rapier.
