The Ultimate guide to starting off a Runescape skiller!

When first starting your account you want to pick a good name for your character, try not to use numbers, and keep it original!

Starting out:
As soon as you make your account and finish the tutorial on how to play the game, Log-out and on the homepage click account and then submit recovery questions. [Setting these questions enables you to recover your account if the password has been lost or forgotten, or hacked] After doing the tutorial island, you no longer get runes and food to 1st start off so you have to do it yourself. When you 1st start your going to be near the lumbridge castle, now that your free to play (F2P) people will be killing goblins and whatnot around you, pick up a few of the bones and sell them to the general store till you have about 50gp (gold pieces). After that you want to head north of lumbridge and find the person that sells training bows and buy 1 or 2 of them. [Having the training bow, one looks cool and two it prevents you from gaining any unwanted combat levels] After getting that you want to go to the grand exchange so your able to buy and sell items, before doing that you need to talk to one of the people standing towards the entrance to it and ask them to tell you about the grand exchange, after that you will gain full access to it. After that you want to go to world 1, and make your way near the barbarian village. Cross the bridge and to the right there is a fishing spot were people are always power training there fishing and power cooking. Most people just give free raw food and cooked food so just find someone giving free food and get a few off them. After that you want to make your way thru the Stronghold of Security. After making your way thru each level of the stronghold there will be something in the middle of the room, click it and receive money and an emote (only the 1st 3 levels of it gives you money and an emote the last room gives you an emote and a choice of a boot) It’s sort of like a maze but in reality its very easy, but once you get to the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th levels of it, that’s where the food comes in handy, and always make sure your life points don’t drop below 60+/-. After getting all the way thru the stronghold you now have 10,000gp, training bow, and boots [Fighting or Colorful ones] After taking the items from the last room of the stronghold there will be a chain in the room, climb it and it will take you to the surface of barbarian village.
Once finishing all of that head north a bit till you see a second building, there is a basement door in the back that you need to go down, after that you want to look at the painting in one of the open cells, and the message should say something like “as you peel the picture away you find an opening in the wall…” so you go thru that and make your way north east until you see a set of steps leading up. Once you do that you will walk west to a room with 2 Cockroach soldiers in it. In the room there is a rope and a lever, pull the lever, then walk to the rope and climb up it. When you climb the rope you’ll be near where you 1st went down in to the cells, and there will be a crevice just go back down it. Now you’ll be in the room with a rope and lever, head back to where you came from before entering the room with the 2 soldiers in it, and down the steps there will be a gate [the gate is now unlocked because when you pull the lever you will get a message saying something about a noise] Go in there and walk around to the chest and click it, you will receive 10,000gp, safety gloves, and 2 Antique lamps that give you 500xp [experience points] in anything you wish. After that, open your mage book, and use the Lumbridge Home Teleport spell (it wont gain you any mage xp, and you can use it once every 30 minutes).Money making/Skills:
After doing all of that you now have 20k coins. I would recommend that you go to the grand exchange and buy an air tiara and as many rune essence as you can with all of your money. With this you will use the assist system and allow other players to help you craft air runes for profit (while doing this I would not recommend you craft the runes yourself, your just doing this to get some money the skilling can come in later). Do this until you are satisfied with the amount of gold you have.
Having a skiller you can do both F2P and P2P (Pay to play) Members allows you to have fancy outfits and in some ways making a skiller a lot easier to have but I personally would choose to get members. Money making is going to come in with your skills, for free to play the profitable skills are mining, fishing, woodcutting, and rune crafting if you have the time and patients to do it. They mite not be the only skills to make money F2P but those are what I choose to start out with because they don’t require much to do, and you make a good amount of money fairly fast. A good member skill to train as a skiller would also be hunter, it doesn’t take all that long and you can make money almost all the way from 1-99 but the real money comes in from 63-99 and I believe its somewhere from 40-60mill from 63, depending on the fluctuation of the prices of red-chinchompas.

Mining:Start out with an iron pickaxe and go to the south east mining spot in varock. Mine copper ore till your level 15 mining because copper is a lot more than tin making you more money. After that you could do iron to 99. Mining free to play is simple but if you get into members, you want to mine iron till about 45-50 mining, I say that because iron is fast and there are many places to mine it and bank quickly ie:Yenelle, varrock, and other various places. After reaching a level of about 45-50 you are going to want to powermine, granite in the desert till you are 77. When your 77 mining you then are able to mine concentrated coal deposits in the Living Rock Caverns, located in the dwarven mine. Then you do 77 to (80-81) I forget what it is for concentrated gold but then after you can mine that you mine gold till your 99. Mining in the rock caverns is the fastest way possible to get 99 mining and you can make a ton of money because the bank is very, very close to all of the rocks. BE CAREFULL WHEN MINING DOWN THERE MAKE SURE YOU ARE IN WORLD 84! World 84 is the home-world for mining gold and coal deposits (don’t ask I have no idea) and there are level 150+ monsters down there that can 1 hit you because your only 100 life points so bring 1-2 tuna per inventory. And when mining down there it helps to join the clan chat “mining golds” they call out the current rocks that are down or up. (If you’d like more information on mining just message me)

Runecrafting:
When runecrafting it costs a good amount of cash in order to get level 44 and it also takes a good amount of time but after you get 44 runecrafting you can start making a lot more money by crafting nature runes. When runecrafting your going to want rune pouches, and what they do is they hold rune essence for you, enabling you to craft more runes per inventory. The way to get these usually is by killing the abyssal demons in the abyss when crafting runes…but jagex has made a mini-game just for runecrafting called the “Great Orb Project” and playing the game you can get altar tabs, that can teleport you to the altar of choice for runecrafting, and you can also purchase runecrafting pouches allowing you to have them as a skiller instead of having to kill things, but being a skiller you obviously don’t want combat. Runecrafting in the long run does take quite a long time and mite seem like it costs a lot of money, but in the end you end up making 400mill plus. After 99 the money can just keep going and going. A smart idea for starting out runecrafting would be doing the quest “Rune mysteries” the quest is a F2P quest and it seriously will only take a few minutes of your time and its well worth it. After completing this quest you will be allowed to be teleported into the essence mines and mine your own rune essence or pure essence. After getting level 44 runecrafting any rune above that requires the use of pure essence and it is a bit more expensive than rune essence.

Farming:
Now I don’t know a whole lot about farming because honestly I have never really gotten into it or took the time to learn to do it well but its basically this….you get your farming level up, and once its high enough you plant herbs put super compost in them, pay a farmer to watch them and wait 6 hours and there done. And within those 6 hours you can do whatever else you want to make money but its like training 2 skills at once. It’s worth taking the time to get into and getting well at doing it because you could get 99 in it without even trying hard.


Other Info:
When making a level 3, you actually are able to level your hitpoints up to 11, without gaining a combat level! This mite not seem like a ton but it can save you from dying if you’re running around places trying to train a skill.
