New way jagex is catching bots?

earlier 2 buddies of mine were runecrafting at the zmi alter and 2 j mods happened to log in w70. After about 20 minutes or so everyone at the zmi alter was logged out and account locked.. After they recovered their accounts they logged in and very few people were in the world..


Seems like jagex is going to be locking massive accounts in an area and gonna see who recovers their accounts right away. So unless they recover their account right away jagex believes their botting and investigates their account...

Kinda sad they have to bother the legit players by random locking accounts...

 

I doubt they'll lock your account. They can't do that for no reason...

2 of my friends.. ones about 7 99's off maxed. The other ones a player mod and his account was locked even tho he's a player mod..

 

They lock a lot now I think. Recently I had an account given to me by a friend that I used for a few days until Jagex locked it. A few days later my two other accounts I usually play on got locked as well even though nobody else logged into them except me.

 

Yeah ZMI has been sketch lately with those bot hunts.

thats odd. maybe its just a temporary thing but i cant see jagex locking massive amounts of accounts like htat. too many bots to hit up before they can get 2 every1

 

One of my accounts recently got locked due to suspicion of a stolen account or something. Which is weird because I have only used the 1 IP besides creation IP. This may shed some light on it.

 

That would be really annoying. I haven't had any accounts locked, but I'd be pissed if they locked it on "suspicion" of people around me. I wonder if legit players are going to backlash. That would be interesting to see.

Another thing that most zmi botters aren't aware of is the grave lure. People who are trying to catch zmi bots will die near the ladder by the altar, and any bot that is runecrafting that has to pray will click on the grave after it, and get stuck there till they get 6 hour logged or banned. I've only seen it happen once, so I wasn't aware if anyone else knew this happened, but you guys should all be warned about it.

I hope they don't start doing this with other places. It would suck if they started doing that in places like SW and other minigame areas that are commonly botted. Jagex would have a lot of locking to do there
