Profound Armor & Castle Wars

I wanted to make this thread to see how many people here on Sythe have much of an interest in playing castle wars. At the moment I am on my way to getting profound armor. In my opinion it is the coolest pieces of armor in the game. I think it is amazing in the looks but even more appealing is the fact that it takes thousands of hours of straight game time to get. Anyone that has it is truly dedicated and has the coolest trophy to show for it. There is nothing else in the game that can compete with how much effort needs to be put into getting it and in my opinion nothing as cool looking as it.

At the moment I have almost enough for 2 full sets of the tier 2 castle wars armor. I am still a very very long way off, but eventually I hope to get full profound. Castle wars is one of the few things I still enjoy in Runescape as the people playing are always so friendly and it is a very calm minigame. It is not as competitive as other games and people that play are there for leisure. I find it to be the best thing to do in runescape to do if you want to have some fun or if you are feeling a little bored.

So, if you are ever feeling a little bored of the negative attitudes of people on other parts of runescape then I would suggest playing a little castle wars.

If you do play Castle Wars often, what armor do you have or how many tickets do you have? I am interested to see how many people here enjoy castle wars as much as I do.

 

I used to have a set of the gold CW armor wayyy back in the day.
castle wars in world 97 used to be the thing to do

Pretty sure the gold armor translates to what you're trying to get now.. cuz they updated it.

Don't play CW much anymore though :\

 

i havent played cw since like 07, now its just retards running around with ags/claws thinking they are better than me

 

Stealing Creation is more leisurely imo.

You don't have to rely on any items or supplies, all you have is your stats.
It's just too bad not many people play SC anymore

 

I agree, Stealing Creations is nice leisure wise also. However every time I play Stealing Creations I stress out about getting enough points. Whereas when I play Castle Wars people are more there for fun and don't care as much about winning. That's my view anyways.

 

Even though Profound armor looks cool, I don't think wasting more than a thousand hours of my life is worth it, especially for something that will not help me in the battlefield.

 

I can see where you are coming from, Castle Wars is one of the few things I still enjoy in Runescape still and the thing I do the most. So in my case Profound Armor would help me out a TON considering the incredible bonuses that it gives. Not to mention it is always nice to wear when you are standing around or skilling. Since I am high Defense I also would not mind wearing it during Slayer or other fighting because it gives the same bonus as range.

 

I agree with this poster. I don't really fancy spending ours getting tickets for something purely cosmetical. That being said, Castle Wars is a pretty fun time-waster if you get bored from skilling and such.

 

I haven't played CW in years. Got bored of it, could never see me reaching the goal your trying to reach. It would bore me to death.

 

I'm only playing castle wars right now to get the completionist cape.

 

Do you already have the untrimmed version or... ?

castle wars has always been one of my favorite games runescape released, the other 2 i like are FoG and Clan Wars

but obviously castle wars is the oldest and best i mean it is a crazy fun game of capture the flag, i have not seen many people with profound armor it does look pretty cool though, good luck getting it^_^

I used to be able to buy the ol' golden set minus helmet. Then my account got hacked, and the hacker felt the urgent need to drop my tickets. Haven't played the minigame since, even though I loved it.

Castle wars sucks tbh, bad rewards, mean people, insults and whatnot, worst game in rs imo

 

I have the plate and shield. Dont think I will go for anything else. Hate castle wars now.

Love castle wars and I have aorund 640 tickets, I'm off by a long shot, but dont care about winning or the rewards, just for fun =)

 

I love castle wars, nothing beats bridding in max everything fighting noobs. It's pretty much all I've done on rs besides bot in the last month or two. Only on like 120 tickets, I doubt I'd ever get profound.
