Banned by association?

Jagex claim on their bot busting threads and in the forums that when they find an account botting they ban/rollback any accounts used by the same person. I'm just wondering if anyone here has had this happen to them, ie banned on sorc garden bot and then banned on main. I HIGHLY doubt they do this, but I'm curious to see if they really do.

 

They don't. For all they know other accounts played on the same ip are siblings.

 

I've heard of it happening before, but it's rare at best.

 

Never happened to me, never happened to my friends that bot too.

 

Im pretty sure they can only punish the account its been botted on, otherwise they could be banning friends/family of the person who actually commited the "crime" of botting

 

While this could flag other accounts that log on with the same IP, a ban will never arise solely from the IP itself.
