    Diet and Exercise, run everyday and try to avoid drinking soda, thats what gets most people.

    if you have mostly a sedentary lifestyle, a little exercise will go a long way

    i would start with walking, since walking burns mostly fat

    once you're comfortable with that, you can increase your distance, or increase speed to a slow jog/fast walk, and then maybe to jog/run

    diet helps! if you can cut out 500 calories a day, that's a pound a week!

    i would also work on building muscle, since it is the most metabolicly active tissue

    also, the added lean mass helps with body fat percentage

    Do not do this, you lose muscle as well as fat. Anyway, I personally walk about 4.5 KM home from school every day + gym for 45 mins, that's enough for me. If you live less than 10KM from school / Work, WALK.

    there are some crash water only diets, but you lose muscle

    your body needs a minimum of 1200 calories per day for maintenance, if it drops below that, your body will go into starvation mode, and starting burning muscle mass for energy, that's saying you used up your glycogen stores

    Try to rule out sodas to teach yourself diet dicipline. Start small, if you drink a lot of soda slowly stop drinking it or you'll experience a lot of irritable moods.

    Look up some good excercise plans, and drink lots of water :)

    my mom takes diet pills. I wouldn't suggest trying those. So to lose weight consult a doctor and set up a plan.

    Setting up a long term plan is your best bet!

    Do not rush into losing weight. IT WILL NOT HELP! Take things slowly and easily and set realistic goals and targets. Also, do not start crazy and all motivated and do a 10km run everyday for the 1st week and give up afterwards.

    Start slow, and steadily progress.

    Setting up a PLAN is a MUST! It will help you stay focused and discipline.

    You're a moron, some people genuinely have trouble losing weight and need advice. It's not pointless considering there are probably thousands of websites and products devoted to helping people lose weight. If it were as pointless and easy as you make it out, everyone would be skinny. Use your fucking brain before you post.

    I would hate to add something mildly on topic just to avoid an infraction when the only real reason I'm posting is because of this idiot ^^

    I have a friend Brandon who's overweight. He genuinly has trouble losing weight as he has multiple temptations that are difficult for him to overcome. He is currently losing weight by trying to cut back on his eating and by playing basketball everyday.

    Diet & Exercise is definentaly the way to go. I had a similar height/weight as you not too long ago.

    I'm 6'1" and was about 251lbs when I starting dieting. I did a 1200 Cal diet and did aerobic exercise about three times a week. I'm about 212lbs right now. :)

    Don't try to make too many changes all at once or you'll just say fuck it and go back to your old habits. Try eliminating soda and junk food first and substitute healthier low calorie foods. Also, with any low calorie diet something called 'ketosis' is possible, which is your body breaking down your muscles to feed itself. The best way to combat this tbh is to weightlift (not all that hard brench pressing shit, but a few curls and crunchs here and there help out a ton in the long run).

    The idea is too take it slowly, you shouldn't be losing much more than two pounds a week or it's too drastic.

    Make sure you read every else's tips on here too; just because it worked for me doesn't always make it the best way; what worked for me may not work for you, experiment. :)

    Just a few rules to follow when losing weight:

    Drink only water - anything else is empty calories (green tea is only exception)

    Eat less calories than you burn, everyone has a different metabolism so look into yours and eat less than you burn.

    If you are on a diet make sure you have a cheat day (1 day where you eat whatever you want) or else you will go insane

    Work out almost every day, leaner muscles burn more calories - alternate through upper body, lower body and cardio weekly with 1 rest day

    Once a day spin around until you are dizzy, this is scientifically proven to release hormones in your body that help speed up your metabolism

    Lift weights. I say this because lifting weights at a fast pace will actually cause you to lose fat better than what cardio will. It has been proven, and thats how i lost 40 lbs. Also, this is totally not what you should do but it really helps... I got prescribed adderall and that is the best fucking medication out there. Helps you concentrate in school and takes your hunger away.
