    Better Alternative to Capital Punishment

Isn't capital punishment barbaric enough without throwing in your sado-masochistic religious fantasies?

why not make a prison state, like in escape from ny

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082340/

stratify the state based on factors such as hostility, intelligence, ect, while allowing some mobility (ex. hostiles can move into another area if they chill out, 17 year old can go into a better section if they obtain their GED).
not saying this would 100% work, but it would be interesting.

The end result is the same either way. All subjective views aside, when they're dead they are dead. Nothing that happened before death has any impact on them after death. Whether you believe in god or not, the person is either gone entirely (athiest viewpoint) or in heaven/hell (theist viewpoint).. what we do to them in their life will only be a blip in the grand scheme of things. It's a waste of taxpayer money to keep death row inmates alive. You'd be surprised how much money each inmate takes up. They should get one appeal, maybe two, then be put to death. This shit with giving them a billion appeals and keeping them alive for 20+ years after their sentencing is just retarded and a gigantic waste of taxpayer money.

With a system where one judge/jury resides over your original sentence, and a completely different judge/jury/whatever resides over your appeal, and so on for your second appeal, there should be no misconceptions of guilt. If you're found guilty 3 times by different sets of peers, gf you.. you deserve it.

Torture is against the U.S. bill of rights amendment 5 I think says no cruel and unusual punishment. The way hell is described in the bible is cruel and unusual, and torture period is cruel and unusual.

I am against the death penalty because I believe the death penalty is an escape, not a punishment. You could spend your whole life in prison or peacefully die, I know which one I'd pick. But torturing should not make up for this because it is not what the U.S. is about, except in Guantamino Bay.

I say we are animals and every creature is different. We can unit or not in topics. yes, easy to his own but our threat and ideology to what puts us in the norm or not is not to be decided by any one. We live and die and being in vengeance by other actions does not solve anything. It creates a world of hate. I can say myself that no punishment is good enough. It doesn't matter if it is a fire squad, injection, or electric chair. The world continues and progress. How sad that sounds but it is true.

unarguably if the united states stopped being timid cunts (I live in the US) and started incorporating realistic punishments the crime rate would plummet. There are many countries (with low, very low) crime rates that use 'eye for an eye' justice.

Sadly the US isn't one of them, you're allowed to break into a home with the admitted intention of rape, get shot, and sue the home owner for injuries (and win).

It's a liberal society, my voice on the matter is if given the opertunity: 1 in the head, 2 in the chest. =/ I agree with OP, punishments for a few crimes are pointless.

What I am getting out of this is you are for corporal punishment rather than capital punishment. I completely agree with you. Ones who kill and rape should be sentenced to a brutal series of painful experiences that last until they can't feel pain anymore. I don't care if it's immoral, fuck that. If someone is fucked up enough to take ones life or sexually assault someone they should be stripped of all rights and treated like the scum between my ass crack and hairy balls. Hell, we'll even be creating jobs for the unemployed.

Oh and OP, leave religion out of every debate because not everyone has the same beliefs and you'll immediately loose credibility.

Come up with a better solution bro because you clearly haven't, as nobody can.
If you wish to challenge the eye-for-an-eye system, state it clearly o_O
If thats not your stance, (which im not saying it is), what is it?
Also, the reason people are condemned to death, is because living in prison for the rest of their natural lifes, on our dime, is NOT A BETTER OPTION. If you paid taxes you would have already reached this conclusion
    I think.........?
